Mello/near huh? that's understandable- Near's a cute little recluse. (i always imagine him forcing the other characters to give him piggy back rides... which makes me crack up a little any time i watch an episode with him in it.)
and, dear god- bb/Mello? sweet jeezus, the destruction! damn, it would have been fun to see those to let loose on Kira.... >3 (that pairing never really occurred to me before, but i think it would be fun to draw. especially since i've always seen bb as something like a horrifying cross between L and Ryuk. XDD good times!)

i tend to swing towards a number of extremes, really depends on my mood.
i like things done spectacular-and-theatrical.
i LIKE extremes.
velvet goldmine is an extreme of artifice-
human, more than nature, because we made it.
also ridiculously awesome, and eye candy.
fight club made me think.
and when it didn't, it was because i was recognizing things i'd thought myself before.
...the only thing is that they went wrong.
they were right, but somehow poisoned by the end.
...perhaps that's inevitable?
they both entertained me, though. :3
and the music in velvet goldmine was kickass.

different as they are, the two movies seem to have one theme in common (at least, lol): nothing is ever static. whether you want them to or not, all things end, all things change, all things go. other than that heartbreaking little nugget of fun, i liked Velvet Goldmine because it was all about the difference between the man and the legend that grows up around him, as well as the people it all affects. (aaaand the music and pretty visuals. i swear to god, i want my ashes mixed with glitter when i die.)
Fight Club kicked ass because it grabbed you and dragged you into the narrator's (or Jack's, or Cornelius', or whatever you feel like calling him) head and didn't let you out again until the very end. it was the kind of good that makes your mind feel like its exploding, if that makes any sense at all, lol.
