We did press releases that we sent out to local comic sites with imagery attached and prepackaged for site postings. Banner ads, single panels, stand alone logos, you name it. I've been doing public affairs for the Army for 13 years so that's just something I can do in the background while I'm doing something else. We got response from two minor sites, one of which was three weeks into the funding campaign. The bigger comic news sites -- especially some that have weekly columns devoted to new comic projects on Kickstarter they send readers to check out -- nothing. Wouldn't respond to follow up emails, phone calls, carrier pigeons or offers of free hand jobs.

No ad money, no Kickstarter money. But if I had a few grand for ad money I might not need the friggin' Kickstarter money.

We're trying Indigogo next time.

Don't feel bad about the Kickstarter crash. If you don't have a few grand to throw at advertising for your Kickstarter no one's even gonna know it's there. Our Casca book at Wicked raised about 700 bucks in the month we had it up, and that was all people who knew us.

I'ts tricky, i made the same project on indigo and kickstarter, on e flunked, and the other worked, it's really hit and miss, and so many variables/luck
