ThanXXX SOOO much, Sihisha, for the “French Grenadier 1807” Fav! I really appreciate it! Like all of my Cavalry series, this is inspired by the Superb Work of Dr Zvonimir Grbasic and Velimir Vuksic!
My fellow DA Artist tells me that the French nickname for such a soldier of Napoleon is “ Un Grognard”!
Another Da Artist says that he thinks that Grognard translates as 'grumbler' in English; apparently the grenadiers of Napoleon's Old Guard were of such high caliber, that they had the privilege of complaining in the emperor's presence, which led to the rest of the army referring to them as 'Les Grognards'. I am in the process of adding colour with PhotoShop CS2! I only have the horse to complete now!
