Mantis religiosa sounds more like a spell from a Harry Potter movie than the Latin name

Thanks. Some of the Latin names are really melodic and suggest secret meanings, although they are very simple, like Digitalis purpurea. Most people think that the spells must be in Latin or Greek, because it is beautiful.
