Β Sorry, I was in the obligation to change my username due to the confusion with a female DAZ product called Galene hairΒ Β

Don't worry about it I found out when I went to your profile
But, for real? They made you change your name because of that? But you had the number in your name as well, and its not like they could trademark a simple name else everybody with the name Victoria would need changing that now LOL
Anyway hope you can keep your new name

No, there is no problem with DAZ, it's only my choice because when I register my account in D.A two-year ago I wrote Galene like in French, in English is written Galen, and later I find on DAZ a female hair called Galene used for DAZ female hairΒ www.daz3d.com/galene-hair-for-β¦) and a 3D female character I lost the address.
There was also confusion from friends in D.A about my sex due to the use of Galene instead Galen, they believed I was a womanΒ
Once again Happy New year to you and TaiduoΒ

I have a request for you that may be a little bit too "pulling back the curtain."
I would really like to see some of your reused "scene sets." If you remember my question during Saturday's class, I was very interested in whether you fully populate "sets" when you use them.
What I was picturing is an isometric type view with the ceiling and one set of walls removed.Β

Linwelly In reply to JasonGalterio [2019-04-08 15:11:36 +0000 UTC]
I can try to make some screen shots from pulled out perspective, for many there is no geometry that is ceiling or walls separate to be removed.
I would put those in the stash and give you a link but would request to leave them there
π: 0 β©: 1
JasonGalterio In reply to Linwelly [2019-04-08 15:17:14 +0000 UTC]
No, no. Don't go through that kind of trouble. If it isn't something easy to do, then it isn't worth it.Β
My request was purely for my curiosity. I kept thinking that the setting would make a great RPG sourcebook. And that led me to want to see the architecture of the scene in its own glory.
π: 0 β©: 1
Linwelly In reply to JasonGalterio [2019-04-08 15:30:46 +0000 UTC]
Haha, the architecture would be crooked anyway with odd walls blocking odd tings I don't want to be seen or gaps between probs that aI tried to match into each other somehow, surfaces removed to make room for other stuff and new planes added to cover again, there woudl be no glory left
π: 0 β©: 1
JasonGalterio In reply to Linwelly [2019-04-08 16:00:46 +0000 UTC]
You just nailed exactly why I asked my question during your presentation.
I was getting a headache as I thought about all the things you have to do to get the set to be consistent and suit the needs of the immediate scene.

Linwelly In reply to JasonGalterio [2019-04-08 17:43:42 +0000 UTC]
Creating a full scene from scratch takes me about two weeks until its ready to be rendred, depending a bit on how complex the setting is and how much I can use from some ready set, but for example the algae farm and Level 1 are very much self made, so took very long.
Xius Workshop is essentially Scifi Level 19 transfered to iray and added a lot of this and that from the runtime. The giant water tank was one of the most complex things stating from giving the fishies a nice iray coat to hand craftig a fitting ceiling.. and all that for one special effect at the end of part 4 LOL

JasonGalterio In reply to Linwelly [2019-04-08 19:07:15 +0000 UTC]
Honestly, I am still stunned that you can render some of those scenes in a reasonable time.
The algae farm for example. With all the caustics, glass, and water...Β I can see my computer churning on that for hours and hours, if not days.

Linwelly In reply to JasonGalterio [2019-04-08 19:31:32 +0000 UTC]
the secret is instances, lots of instances and always hide everything you don't see. I'm rendereing a scene that isn't even that big but some surface was a real memory hog, crashed every freaking time until I shoved it through the scene optimizer, the two people are non existant except for their heads and upper bodies. So yes I reach the limit as well. I'm not letting it render all that long either. Standart time setting got to be enough for comic site renders
