I've been looking for this kind of art forever! I do this kind of stuff too, but yours is quite a bit better, I was beginning to lose hope of finding some art of fish that was serious and not from finding nemo. I know this is probably redundant, but great work!

Thanks, I really appreciate the compliments. There are a number of really good biological illustrators/scientific artists on dA. Really, the best way to find what's out there is to search "scientific illustration". Good luck with your endeavors. Though it may feed your soul, it can devour it as well...

hey your photographs are really good
when i take photos in the wild they are too light or too dark
so what do you do to avoid this?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
scientificartist In reply to Mehrnazz [2012-04-29 16:22:27 +0000 UTC]
Well, that depends on what equipment you're using. If you're using a point and shoot camera in full auto, try taking a reading off of the main subject you're taking a picture of. Center your subject, press your shutter button halfway down, hold it down, then move your camera around to compose your shot. Once you have the shot you want, press all the way down on your shutter release button. This will make your camera adjust lighting and focus for your subject, even though it's no longer centered. Be careful to try to maintain the same distance from your subject, as doing this locks your focus, aperture and shutter speed settings.

As the person below said, I'm not quite a fan of fish either.
But I must admit, your fish are very nice c:

Hi, I just love all your scientific illustrations, and I am wondering if you are gonna try drawing other animals

Firstly, thank you for adding EVERY fish to your favs. That's a little ridiculous, and I appreciate the hell out of it. Secondly, I'm not sure that I'll ever do other animals. There's just too many fish in the world.
