# About me
Encouraged by oil painting master Yong Zhou, I started picking up pencils and learning how to draw after Thanksgiving 2013. I am currently taking classes at New Jersey Art Academy during weekends.Thank you for visiting and for all your comments. I only add my works and my daughter Cynthia's works to my personal gallery. For Professor Yong Zhou's oil paintings, Ms. Zheng Lu's photography works and student's artworks at NJ Art Academy, please visit the gallery under group NJArtAcademy.
Professor Yong Zhou is a famous oil painting master from western China. Under his guidance, NJ Art Academy has become a cradle for many young artists in central Jersey area. It is my honor to host our academy gallery and show our best student's works to the world.

There are many keys for picking up drawing skills quickly. Inspiration is always the number 1, which means for me to draw well, the object must be something I love to draw. So after finishing a work, it would become "him" as a baby of mine. Knowing what to achieve is the number 2. Foundation drawing is the base for me to move higher. After sketching for 3 months, I have found the importance of layers in drawing. Knowing drawing by layers makes me an unique one in the classroom. It also helps me a lot to play with colors. As Professor Zhou keeps challenging me, I will have to pick up artistic anatomy in July, on which Zhou is the master. Artistic anatomy is the fundamental for Zhou's figurative paintings. The number 3 key is hard work and consistency. I study my drawing everyday for a hour on my sketch book, and always finish my drawing on each page. The last one is also very important, that is to study drawings and paintings of other artists closely. I am a very lucky one to have many chances to touch and observe Professor Zhou's works and teaching, and work with many young talented students at NJAA. Learning drawing is a process of accumulation. Each line and shape I draw is filling into the foundation. I would not jump further until I feel I could be ready to accept little more freedom in modern art.
