DAFrostbite's AU Questions: Do you see The Joker as a Dark Side user, but at the same time a Dark Side user who's not in anyway affiliated with the Sith (let alone would want to be a Sith)?

Also, here's a separate "what if' question.

What would happen if The Emperor a.k.a. Darth Sidious a.k.a. Sheev Palpatine HAD managed to learn Darth Plagueis' secrets on midi-chlorian manipulation and afterwards, in secret, became immortal through his manipulation of the midi-chlorians that're inside him (shortly BEFORE he killed his master)?

Note: That scenario would takes place in the official Star Wars canon, not the Legends canon.

1) Personally, I see the Joker as a non-powered bounty hunter, but if he had to have powers, then yeah, he'd be an unaffiliated Dark Side user.

2) Good question.  See, it'd be really easy to say that he overthrows the Republic right away, skipping over the prequels entirely, but I still think he would scheme his way into power as opposed to an outright coup.  I think you'd see him still try to manipulate things from behind the scenes, but this time, he doesn't need to be afraid of the Jedi.  If they attack him, he'll be ready.

If Bane decided to make himself a costume that's similar to Batman's, but has it's own unique style to it and dedicated himself into protecting Gotham City in any way he can, how would he go about doing that? Will he even succeed in his new mission in life?

Note: This is an alternate scenario to the event known as Nightfall.

salvador-deli In reply to Frostbite883 [2017-12-13 06:42:15 +0000 UTC]

First, when you say 'alternate scenario', do you mean that it supersedes the event entirely or just after he breaks Batman's back?  I see it working better as taking place after Bane breaks Batman's back, as we are then given something like Kraven's Last Hunt, where the villain supplants the hero in order to prove their superiority.

Now, as to the question proper.  I see Bane making a suit similar to Batman Beyond--sleek, reminiscent of the bat, and functional.  I would cut out all the insane tubing that he has been given over the years and replace it with an internal device that pumps out venom as needed.  From there, he basically acts as a Red Hood or Azrael, which is to say inspire fear in the criminal underworld through more brutal means than Batman is willing.

It would likely work on regular crime, but the super criminals would only become more brazen.  For instance, Joker's not going to be very happy about someone replacing his beloved Batman, is he?

It's another word I use besides scenario (which basically also means scenario in this case).

Anyways, what sort of plan would Joker come up with to trap, capture or put a hurting to Bane?

Also, what happens when Nightwing hears from Robin that Bane is dressed as Batman and going around serving his own brand of justice in Gotham?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

salvador-deli In reply to Frostbite883 [2017-12-24 20:29:05 +0000 UTC]

I would have Joker make Bane overthink everything.  He sends the new Batman on a merry chase around Gotham, distracting him with smaller crimes and such, until he's too caught up to notice the obvious attack.

Now, as far as Nightwing goes, I imagine he would not stand for this impostor coming in and taking over Gotham.  Unlike his mentor though, Dick will work together with as many people as he can to stage a revolution against Bane.

If Nightwing and his allies and the Joker went after Bane one day at the same time and encounter each other, what would the three parties' reactions be to seeing one another in, let's say, an abandoned warehouse? What would they do next?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

salvador-deli In reply to Frostbite883 [2017-12-27 06:47:48 +0000 UTC]

First, everyone gangs up on Joker and whatever army of goons he has.  Bane understands that Nightwing's team is there to stop him, yes, but the Joker has been a thorn in his side for too long, and Nightwing shares that sentiment.  After they manage to stomp the clown out, we look like we're going to get a one-on-one with the two remaining parties, except Bane can no longer put up much of a fight.  Just as he wore out Bruce in order to break him, so too has Joker's grand plan drained the vigilante.  Nightwing beats him handily, his allies take out Bane's team, and Dick manages to inject him with a serum that will counteract the Venom in his system.

By the end of the fight, Bane has been left a weak, crippled mess, and Nightwing decides to protect the city while Bruce is away.

Would Nightwing take on the mantle of Batman (going by the view point that Gotham would still need a Batman...albeit one who's not judge, jury AND executioner) or would he just continue to be Nightwing and do his best in fighting crime in Gotham?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

salvador-deli In reply to Frostbite883 [2017-12-30 02:43:37 +0000 UTC]

I don't see Nightwing assuming the mantle of Batman, and here's why.  For one thing, even if he did put on the cowl, people would realize that it's not the original under there; Dick Grayson is a wholly different person than Bruce Wayne.  On top of that, it won't seem like a step backwards when he has to inevitably give up the costume.  Lastly, I feel like having him remain as Nightwing has more meaning to it, since it shows that you don't need to be Batman to protect Gotham.

salvador-deli In reply to Frostbite883 [2017-12-31 05:57:43 +0000 UTC]

Nightwing will do a good, albeit different job.  Part of his work would be to undo the damage that Bane and his crew created in settling into Gotham, which is where his team largely comes into play.  Beyond that, he'll be doing much of the work that Batman usually does, and he does it well.

When Batman comes back to Gotham, he'll find it better than when he left it.

If Lex Luthor had dreamed about being a public hero called Superman and later on, decided to be that sort of heroic figure that existed in his dreams for Metropolis, only so he can gain MORE fame and glory than he already gets (especially since he practically owns the city and nearly everything in it), how well would Lex do in pursuing and performing good deeds? And how much could he do as a hero with his own super powered armored suit that he made from the remains of an alien (Kryptonian) ship he found a few years ago?

For that matter, what if Thomas Wayne Junior was the ONLY child that Thomas Sr. and Martha Wayne ever had after they died and after they were gone, Thomas Jr. vowed to get revenge against any and all criminals in Gotham City...which resulted in him becoming an extremely ruthless vigilante called The Batman who, years later, secretly controlled the city with an iron grip?

Note: The events described in that scenario will happen in a universe where Kal-El died during Krypton's destruction and Thomas Jr. ended up being the first and only child of the Wayne Family instead of Bruce like in regular DC canon.

salvador-deli In reply to Frostbite883 [2018-01-06 18:28:53 +0000 UTC]

Starting with Lex, we'll go with the second question first.  As Superman, Lex would largely be similar to Iron Man, and similarly successful; he could probably replicate a lot of Supe's powers with additional technology (heat vision, frost breath, etc.).  Now, as to how well he does, I think it would be best if we see Lex evolve beyond just a celebrity hero.  The more he does work for the public and gets in touch with them, the more he becomes the hero he wanted to be as a kid.

Then you have Thomas Wayne Jr., who has become the hero he envisioned as a kid, except that his idea of a hero is a monster.  I foresee Thomas reigning large from Wayne Manor, doing everything in his power both in and out of the costume to claim control of Gotham City.  He has spies and young agents around the city known as Robins and Batgirl, who keep watch for Batman.  And while he would largely be under control of crime, there would be an underbelly of super-crime welling up in Gotham, as well as a faction of rebellious heroes known as the Movement.

If the Justice League was formed by Wonder Woman, Black Canary, Green Lantern, Flash, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter during an alien invasion months ago and knew about Superman (Lex Luthor) months later after his first heroic debut, do you think they would offer Superman membership to the League, if only as a reserve member?

Do you also see the League doing their hardest to find Batman (Thomas Wayne Jr.) in Gotham City once they knew about him...thanks to James Gordon? Could Gordon be able to help the hero team in finding and bringing in the Bat AND his accomplices?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

salvador-deli In reply to Frostbite883 [2018-01-20 05:26:36 +0000 UTC]

I actually see Lex approaching the League this time, all but demanding membership.  They are reluctant but decide to give him a chance to prove himself, at which point he realizes that he is outclassed by these genuine heroes.  He steps up his game to match them, but just like his solo career, he finds himself growing more into a team player as he realizes that he doesn't need to be a leader.  Sometimes, there are other people who can do that role better than him.

Now, as far as taking down The Batman goes, I think that Gordon would not approach the League; he would probably try to rally the citizens of Gotham.  It would be The Movement that reaches out to the League, and the two teams would work together to face Batman and all his assorted minions.  The GCPD, meanwhile, would be both keeping the peace and busting up the Bat's syndicate; they're the ones who deal with the less explosive stuff.

If Lex Luthor had created an artificial lifeform known as the protoplasmic matrix which he later calls Lena after his sister, who is also called Lena, as soon as it/she took on a form that's somewhat similar to his kind hearted sibling (by using it/she's shape shifting) and possessed her memories and personality traits (due to the original Lena's synaptic pathways being copied into the second one)...how would Lex feel if that Lena decided it/she wanted to be a hero too? Like him because he inspire it/her too be one? To be his Supergirl to his Superman?

Also, do you see Batman having plenty of contingency plans in place if the two teams beat him and his forces as well as Gotham away from him?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

salvador-deli In reply to Frostbite883 [2018-01-23 20:03:14 +0000 UTC]

So Matrix if she were modeled after Lena?  If we are to assume that he makes her in Lena's image because his sister is gone, then I would imagine Lex would be overprotective of her.  He would do everything in his power to discourage her so that he does not lose his sister again, but he can't control the way she cares for him.  Eventually, he'll be embroiled in a fight that he's losing, and Lena decides to head down there and save her 'brother'.  She shows up in a costume similar to Lex's, albeit less bulky--think chain mail/leather armor to plate armor.  Then and there, Lex accepts that he can't keep Lena from this, so he decides that she can be his partner.  She takes on the name 'Supergirl', and Lex's evolution to a full-on hero continues.

As far as Batman goes, I foresee him having a couple of plans in mind should he be defeated.  He will probably have someone on the inside (either Blackgate or Arkham, same difference) who can help fake his death and get him out.  Once free, he makes arrangements and calls in favors for those he spared and allowed to operate under his jurisdiction, like the Court of Owls, League of Assassins, and the Black and Whites.  He'll rebuild his forces as he studies these superheroes that have dared to take his city from him, and waits for the right moment to strike.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

salvador-deli In reply to Frostbite883 [2018-01-31 05:57:56 +0000 UTC]

Absolutely.  I think that the Bat will try to coax Lex over to his side by playing to his darker, egotistical side, but in a display of moving beyond that part of himself, Super Luthor just starts walloping Batman.  It'd be an extremely one-sided fight at first, as any fight between a Superman and Batman out to be.  And that's when Thomas breaks out the invention, which then raises the question of what he stole.

Here are a few ideas:

1) An experimental exo-suit that is even more powerful than Lex's, which Thomas has redesigned to be more like his own costume

2) The Amazo android, which was meant to replicate any JL member should they become incapacitated

3) The Parasite, who can leech the energy out of a living being, should any League members go rogue.

salvador-deli In reply to Frostbite883 [2018-02-05 00:42:14 +0000 UTC]

Let's assume that TomBat has exposed the fact that Lex has been developing these secret machines over the last couple of years, and the League is cross with him.  They all but refuse to go to his aid, but it's not until Supergirl reaches out to them that they decide to help.  Because as much as the JLA might hate Lex, they won't turn down Lena.

As for being able to defeat Amazo, I think they will.  They have to, with Lena in trouble.  No one wants to see Lena die.

salvador-deli In reply to Frostbite883 [2018-02-10 16:31:18 +0000 UTC]

I imagine that the League works together and overload Amazo with too many powers/abilities to duplicate.  When that happens, it goes into a stand-by to try and process all the information, at which point the League manages to destroy him.  For TomBat, Lex decides to use his brains rather than brute strength, as he has come to rely on since making the super-suit.  He outwits the Bat and incapacitates him long enough for the rest of the League to arrive.

Afterward, Lex is allowed back into the League on the condition that he is open about any plans that could impact the team.  Lena is given full membership as well, thanks to a unanimous vote.  Amazo is decommissioned for the time, but the team believes that an improved version might be useful in the future.  As for TomBat, he is locked away for good, only to be executed by his former allies for his two defeats.

For starters, you're scrapping the last twenty-some episodes of Season 1, plus the first 18 episodes of Season 2, where Tommy has to constantly worry about losing his powers and disappears when he does.  Truthfully, I don't think anything would have been radically different if Tommy lost his powers, both for him and the team.  It would just be more of him getting closer to Kimberly, training and competing with Jason, and coming into his own as a Ranger.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season Two Episode Fourteen ("Missing Green") AU Questions: If Jason Lee Scott a.k.a. The Red Ranger was too late in preventing his team from losing their Ranger powers by the magical candles that were created by Lord Zedd, no thanks to Goldar managing to fight off Jason long enough for the candles to melt away completely, how would Jason and the rest of the Power Rangers feel after that turn of events unfolded?

Okay, last things first--I'll assume you meant "brand new ones".

If that were to happen, that Zedd manages to leech off all the Ranger powers, save Jason, once and for all, I think everyone would be devastated.  It's one thing to lose their Zords; it's something else entirely to lose everything that makes them Rangers.  I imagine everyone will be in a funk that not even a round of smoothies at Ernie's Juice Bar will help.

Of course they would go to Zordon for a way to restore them, but there's no way to recreate that power.  Alpha 5 and he will need time to construct new Ranger powers, which means that until then, Jason is the sole defense against Zedd.

Last things first, Jason will do an admirable job as The Power Ranger, though it helps that Zedd only ever attacks one city.  Through a combination of the Dragon Shield and the last vestiges of the original Dinozord power, he manages to destroy whatever monster Zedd can send at him.  Eventually though, it starts to take a toll on him, but he refuses to surrender, knowing full well that the weight of the world rests on his shoulders.

As for Alpha and Zordon, the two of them manage to tap into the Thunder Zord power again, and if the Rangers use it, they will become far more powerful than they used to be.  When they succeed and gather the Rangers together, the team are endowed with new weapons and suits that reflect their deeper connection to the Thunder Power.  These tools would be borrowed from Dairanger, as the Thunder Zords were.

And if they fight in giant forms like they do in the Zeo season finale, there are two things that are guaranteed.  One, it would suck, because those giant fights are just awful.  Two, assuming that the villains survive the fight, they'll likely decide to stop attacking Angel Grove--they've been at this a few years now, and they haven't won once, so might as well just pack it up and move on.

When DS shows his trophies to the universe, I imagine that it crushes the hopes of the good and bolsters the wicked.  The conquest of the galaxy can begin much sooner, and no one can stand in their way.

That is, until Andros and Alpha intervene.  They manage to disrupt the declaration and steal away the imprisoned Rangers.  After freeing the four teens, they set out to gather as many allies as they can.  Not just of former Earth Rangers, but other Rangers and allies around the galaxy.

If Andros had managed to get as many allies as he can, could they all defeat the Dark Specter and the rest of the Ultimate Alliance of Evil sooner or later?

What happens if they do? What happens if they don't?

I would certainly hope that an alliance of Rangers would be enough to fight off Dark Specter, but villains are crafty.  If the heroes win, they destroy the UAE, with maybe some of the villains escaping to plot again.  If the heroes lose, then that's it--the villains conquer the galaxy, taking planet after planet.
