Jason studied the dark opening before him with a wary eye. The promised cave up the mountainside certainly reeked of an ancient power. One that threatened to turn him away, one that tugged on the corners of his mind and gently suggested he would much rather be someplace else. A power so sickly strong that it marched mental images of the panicked villagersβ faces across his mind, each and every one he spoke to afeared at the mention of his quest. βStay back,β they had all warned. βA great evil awaits you there.β A terrible power, or something best left asleep.
