I agree so strongly with your journal entry about the importance of the past and the cultural importance of architecture....have been passionate about such things for decades....I depressed myself thoroughly one time looking at a website that has thousands of wonderful old Australian photos of (mostly) towns and buildings...nearly all pulled down. When will they ever learn? Apparently never!
However, your gallery cheers me up immensely as it's full of the most wonderful modern architecture
You certainly are a most excellent photographer, so I'll look forward to more of your works in the future.

I think the tragedy is that so many of the old building *do* fall into disrepair and that their wonderful art forms aren't appreciated enough to maintain them. We would have lost a lot more here in Melbourne if it weren't for a community movement and the creation of our 'National Trust' organisation. The irony is that the buildings we/they have saved have all become major tourist attractions when enough money has been generated to restore them
