( ❅ ) i. "I'll see you later, Kathy." The hybrid pat her colleague's shoulder before finally beginning to walk out of the building. "See you tomorrow, Mahina!" Ah... The city. Mahina usually would come here whenever she was hungry or just wanted to freely roam after work. After passing through her first month of working for the Detroit Police Department, things seemed to be going much more smoothly. Sure, the anti-android protests were a hassle to deal with, but it's going to happen whether she liked it or not. Still, she was heavily opinionated when it came to the protests and absolutely detested them. They were nothing more than a waste of time.
( ❅ ) ii. Adjusting her hat, she took the time to look around; it was snowing. Winter. She absolutely adored the season.. just the pristine white ice crystals that fell out of the sky to coat the ground below. Mahina could feel those little snowflakes cling to her coat as she walked, but she didn't bother to wipe them off. She can just go home and shake it off after her aimless wandering.
( ❅ ) iii. The hybrid was just about to go to a restaurant for lunch - she's nocturnal so the time currently is basically her daylight hours - until she heard a commotion. Damn it, another protest, she thought to herself as she turned her head to face the direction of the demonstration. Seems it was... maybe peaceful ? Perhaps. Then again, even the most peaceful of protests can get quite violent. From what she could see, it seems they were harassing someone. An android. Not tonight, she thought to herself, stomping over to the situation at hand.
( ❅ ) iv. "Hey, leave him alone! What the fuck are you giving him a hard time for?" She angrily called out to the human trio who were ganging up on the poor android. "His kind ruined us! Mind your own business, lady!" One of the humans demanded, but she stood her ground. "I don't give a fuck about your damn life! He's done nothing to you! He's just as human as anyone else in this damn city!" She sneered back, now shielding the android from the trio. "You're no better than these fucking pieces of plastic!" Another of the humans piped up, earning an enraged glare from the hybrid. "Excuse me?" "You heard me, you little bitch." Now furious, she calmly walked towards the protester, grabbed his arm and viciously twisted it behind him, earning a high pitched yelp from the poor man. "I suggest you and your pathetic little friends get the fuck away from this android and get yourselves out of my face, because if you don't I will break your arms right here and now. Trust me, I might be small, but guess what? I can kick your sorry asses to the ICU, and because you don't know who I am, don't expect me to pay for your medical bills. Bonus points if you're unemployed as well." Her voice was cool and collected, but boiling with rage and contempt. "O-Okay, okay! We'll leave!"
( ❅ ) v. Hearing those frantic words from the fearful protester earned a smirk from Mahina as she finally let him go, shoving him away from her and towards his likeminded friends. "Good. Have a pleasant evening, gentlemen." That last word was more of a mockery of them; taunting and ridiculing them. The trio was quick to scurry away from her as fast as they could, not even bothering to look back to see if she was following them. Huffing, the hybrid turned to face to android she had helped. "I'm so sorry about that, sir... I just- couldn't let them harass you like that... are you alright? Did they hurt you in any way?" Her voice now was much calmer than seconds earlier, completely filled with genuine concern for him.
