What tutorials? That's usually how I do things, but I can't seem to find a really basic tutorial that explains anything in more than a 'do this and this happens' way. I almost feel like a parrot, just repeating exactly what the tutorials tell me to do. Where did you find your tutorials?

yeah but those tutorials are the type of do this and do that.
But the good thing is they are specific, so it's almost impossible to get lost and as you do more, you begin to get the hang of it.

3ds max 7. Thanks for the offer of help. It's always nice to have an actual person you can ask questions to. My computer doesn't respond too well, and I end up taking a sledgehammer to it, at which point it gets really angry with me and stops working totally
