Okay, but confused. I don't know who you are, and I don't know why you didn't just send me a note instead of commenting on my profile.

Well oddly it doesn't show in my SENT file either. Who knows...must have gotten lost in transit. Ha, ha. I have re-sent it to you. It shows up on my end now so should be in your inbox! Thanks again for the faves!

I know it must seem silly, given that you were dressed as an orc, but I thought you were beautiful. That's why I "watched" you.

I don't know anything about Elfquest, other than it used to be a comic book.

Hey I saw the comment you left on 's deviation "Don't Look Down." and we really need more people like you on DA-- and if it's not too bold to say-- in the world. You're very well spoken and I love how you speak your mind and not just say "that's pretty" or something.
I probably didn't express my gratitude that well, but if you're as wonderful in person as you are online, I bet women are clawing to get to you.
Best wishes,
C

Oh dear God, I *wish* women felt the way you seem to about me! I really AM a decent guy, but almost every female looks at me and thinks "nerd" that I doubt they really take the time to get to know me. I try to be the same person I am online as I am in person, but it's so incredibly easy for people to assume negative stereotypes. You wouldn't believe the hard time I received when I went to a women's forum, and tried to help out with people posting about depression, and answering questions about how men think. Most of us aren't as bad as the media makes us out to be, you know. We're lonely, too, it's not just women.

Wow...hearing that makes me dislike my own gender that much more. I'm sorry you have so much trouble. And what the heck is wrong with nerds!? Nerds are hot: I love them! Anyway it made me feel good that there's at least 1 guy out there who's not afraid to be sweet.

Most of the women I've encountered online seem to think all men just want to get in their shorts, or be crude or whatever.
I never understood women, really, since most of them say they want a sweet, honest guy, but never actually try to date guys like me(do you have ANY idea how hard it is to figure out if a lady likes a guy?). I dunno, maybe they got suspicious of males, and stopped believing in decent men...
Sure wish I could find a lady, one who's healthy, busty, intelligent, and a mite silly that was single and in her 20-30's, but somehow all of them live far away or are somehow unavailable.
Good men exist and always have. It's just that women (for the most part) stopped looking for them.

i feel you on that dude, through my life I've noticed the guys who know how to get any woman its usually through acting in a kinda douche-baggy way but what sucks is it works, and then you see woman complaining that all men are assholes or whatever and say they want the sweet nice guy but they NEVER go for those kinda guys, even if they say they would
woman have always been hard to figure out since the dawn of man even the most smartest men in history still pondered that problem, which amazes me that its still a mystery XD

Men like that can manipulate their way into getting women, but not keeping them. Trick is, how does one do both?

TheGeckoNinja In reply to redig76 [2011-01-08 22:11:06 +0000 UTC]
well they don't keep them cause they usually don't want to keep them, so id say do the first part of the manipulation, then be nice ...i guess >.>

I know I haven't tried looking for decent men considering all of the ones in my life have hurt me. Or my anti-society teenage anarchy keeps me from looking. I guess that's why I'm shocked when they're nice to me. I really think guys have it hard. Women are really difficult and I feel bad that you guys have to deal with us.

Unfortunately, it doesn't much improve as women get older. Lately, I've wanted to approach a few ladies that I thought were gorgeous, but I shied away, thinking that they wouldn't want a guy with thinning hair that isn't rich.. I've got the intelligence (and was aptitude tested) to be a lawyer etc, but I want a more humane career.
Hell, I'd even date an 18 yr old, if she had intelligence and self awareness/compassion I am searching for. Most of the things other people seem to want (height, age, race, religion, weight, money etc) really don't matter IMO. It's who she is deep inside that I care about. She does have to still be able to have kids, since I want to be a dad, though.
Problem is, most of the women I meet don't seem interested, or are suspicious of a guy who is invariably decent. And, they don't have the courage, it seems, to approach a guy on their own. That's why there are so very many women who are still single into their late 30's and 40's, IMHO.
You gotta learn to meditate, clear your mind, then look into his eyes. Trust your instincts, but don't allow your desires to taint what you find. If I could find a woman who has empathic abilities, one that could read me, she'd know that I'm complex, but still very very open. Don't allow yourself to become bitter, to EXPECT men to be jerks, because you'll treat them as such (nobody responds well to that).

I'm seeing the wonderful intelligence you possess and I'm feeling more and more ashamed of my gender ^-^ Haha but going into high school I'm ging to try and treat guys like actual people instead of these creatures that I don't understand.

Don't be ashamed of what you are. There's nothing inherent in the female gender that makes them negative beings. All you have to do is just listen, watch, and don't be afraid to pipe up when you have something to say. Be assertive, but you gotta listen too.

Oh, thank you! Sigh. If only I could find a lady (would definitely prefer a legal age, IMO) nearby that takes to me as readily as you seem to have done. Oh well. I am slowly giving up hopes of finding one that likes my sort, as I have had very poor luck for 15 years now... Gotta get used to being alone, I suppose.
