No problemo. I've been good. School's all started, but not crazy, which is nice. I'd kind of forgotten what that's like.
How's school going for you? Got some exciting classes this year? How's the boy-toy? ;D

Nice webcam pic. Who IS that sexy man in that spiffy sweater. WAIT IS THAT- is that Vin Diesel?!?!?!

ravenxwriter In reply to codyshorts [2010-12-14 14:40:33 +0000 UTC]

That would make it even more hilarious, but I don't think it is. Vin Diesel's pecs would be ripping through that sweater if he stuck his chest out that far.

HAHA, UNLESS...unless that was one durable sweater. Woven from the hair on the back of Chuck Norris's neck. Vin Diesel is not THAT ripped is he? IS HE?!

Hmmm... I do not think he is that ripped. However, I think we all WISH that he was that ripped.

THAT would be an interesting movie to watch. I would be incredibly amazed if he was able to fully capture the audience for the whole movie, because being trapped under a rock on a mountain would be hard to make interesting after a point.

He IS magnificent. Did you see Eat, Pray, Love? I haven't seen it (don't really want to. Not a fan of Julia Roberts. But Javier Bardem might be my eventual excuse.) but I've heard Mr. Franco performed very well.

codyshorts In reply to ravenxwriter [2010-12-31 20:01:45 +0000 UTC]

I know. I made a point of NOT wanting to see it due to the fact that I really didn't want to spend $10 on a movie about some guy having to cut his arm off. And then I read some article about the movie in Outside magazine [the one with James Franco on the cover] and have considered otherwise. I DID HEAR THAT IT CAUSED SOME TO FAINT.

I DID see Eat, Pray, Love [you know why]. It was a surprisingly good movie, and it definitely makes you want to travel and eat. Why the Julia Roberts negativity??? AND IF YOU DIDNT GIVE INTO JAVIER BARDEM IT MIGHT BE A CRIME. James Franco played his small part well.

Hmmm... I'll have to wait for it to come out on DVD. Hurray Netflix! I can faint all I want at home.

I don't know... She tends to play characters that annoy me. And I don't find her attractive, so watching her in movies where she's falling in love and being fallen in love with are very odd to me. And I haven't seen her in a movie where her acting just blew me away. So I avoid her. A lot.
The ONE thing I have not given in to Mr. Bardem/Superridiculouslysexypants is No Country For Old Men. I can do ridiculous violence with blood spraying twenty feet all unrealistic-like, but I can't do realistic violence.
I heard he did! He plays another love-interest, right? Or her ex-husband?

Not a bad idea. Netflix is great like that. And Instant Queue. That's pretty much the way my mom and I think. "Do you want to see that movie???" "I'LL WAIT FOR NETFLIX."

She does, doesn't she? Although she was a good Tink in Hook! Then again, Tinker Bell is a somewhat irritating character sometimes (since she's a jealous and vengeful little fairy. BUT SHE DOES IT OUT OF LOVE). I do think that she's pretty though, her nose particularly. I think she has a very whimsical looking nose; like an elf or a fairy. She was pretty likeable in Eat, Pray, Love though, JUST WAIT FOR NETFLIX. What's that movie about? And James Franco was a boyfriend I think...yes, a love-interest.

Someone was talking about it in one of my classes today. "Dude, no one can believe that I kept my eyes open for all of 127 Hours." Of course, I realized that she was talking about the movie, but the guy she was talking to was like No way! You kept your eyes open for 127 hours?! I kind of laughed at that.
Also, speaking of Netflix, I watched Daddy Long Legs the other day and thought it was really cute. It's sort of whimsical and fun and there's some great imaginary scenes.

Have you seen any of the new Tinker Bell movies? I've seen a few of them and... no. Just no.
I have no idea what No Country For Old Men is about. I just know that Javier Bardem is a serial killer who brutally murders people and that the book that it was based on was written by the guy who wrote The Road (which I never finished--I got fifteen pages in and then my soul kind of keeled over and died for a while).
I'll have to check it out. INETFLIX.

AHAHAHA, that is hilarious! How did you even DO that?! We're now introducing the elegance and fluidity of the English Language! Still have yet to see that movie...
I'll have to check if it's on Instant Netflix; I just recently watched Naked Lunch adapted from William S. Burroughs book. It was somewhat of a trip, being dragged through this drug induced world, both repulsive and fascinating. I...I don't know if I liked it or just find it too deep to dislike.

NO. NO I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANY OF THE NEW TINKER BELL MOVIES. Hahaha, oh jeez, I just don't think I could sit down and watch them [unless I was with a little cousin who just desperately begged me to sit and watch it with them]. They must have been cheesy?
I think I've heard good things about No Country For Old Men. That or Matchstick Men. I could be getting the titles confused, but I've not seen either.
The Road, that was adapted into some post-apocalyptic movie, right? With Viggo Mortensen? Were the first 15 pages that depressing?!?!

ravenxwriter In reply to codyshorts [2011-02-26 23:46:24 +0000 UTC]

Same here. I'll probably watch it in ten years, after it's won an Oscar and become part of the American lexicon.
I'll have to check that out. That's sort of the way I felt about I Love You, Alice B. Toklas, except that movie isn't really deep, just bizarre. I really don't get Peter Sellers most of the time.

They were pretty bad. And Tink is so BORING! She reminded me of Belle from Beauty and the Beast--gets into mischief but only because she's trying to help, which is NOT TINK AT ALL. Bugs me.

Probably No Country for Old Men. Matchstick Men isn't bad, but it's not mindblowingly fantastic. That one is about con men. No Country is about a dude who brutally kills people and... well, that's about all I've gathered.
THEY WERE SO DEPRESSING, DEAR GOODNESS. Yeah, basically it's this father and son living in a post-apocalyptic world, and the dad is dying of SOMEthing (or at least coughing up blood--descriptions of the red blood on the grey snow and all that), and it's hard to find food that's okay to eat, and bla bla bla. It was SAD. And then there's crazy dudes who run around killing and raping whoever's left on earth. Yeah. It wasn't a nice book.
