Hi! This is kind of random, but I was going through the bookmarks on my browser and one of them was a link to a work of yours that no longer exists. I don't usually bookmark deviantart pages, so I was curious as to why it was so important to me at the time. The name of it was "Rain 6". If you happen to know it off the top of your head, could you tell me what it was a picture of? Thanks for your time!

Thank you. I started out as a traditional artist, and I just took photos for reference for my drawings and paintings. I ended up getting a scholarship for my photography and it just snowballed from there. I know how it feels for artist to need good stock for their work, so I am happy to share my work.

Hey,
Do you know Oregon?
It's really beautiful there, and I'm from there!
They have lots of wild animals and (caged) animals.
If you ever visit there take pictures!
i miss Oregon so much, but I still have a couple years left here until I'm old enough to move back.
What a world

I have never been to Oregon. One day I hope to travel around the USA and see all the different states.

I live in South Africa and there is a reasonably big falconry scene here. My dad does live animal shows with snakes and birds, so I grew up surrounded by birds of prey and many other unusual animals. One of my best friends when I was really young (like before Primary school young), was a Harris Hawk named Greta. This bird is now about 25 years old!

Oh wow, that is really cool! It sounds like we a lot in common. I have only been working with the birds of prey for about 6 years now, but I have always had a ton of pets growing up. Right now our oldest bird is our Red Tail hawk named Bell. She is about 24 years old. It was really nice to meet you.

You too! It is sad that falconry is slowly becoming a forgotten hobby and it is good to have people like you who also promote these birds to regular people. I also find raptors particularly nice to draw because they always seem easy to "bring to life". I haven't drawn any lately but might draw one or two for DA in the future.
My older brother also did falconry for a while but he found out after a while that he didn't have the time for it. His African Goshawk (female) died earlier this year, its name was 'Astra'. My dad also has other birds though, one of which is a stunningly pretty crowned eagle with huge talons that require 3 gloves and a splint to hold, otherwise your arm tends to bleed a lot. Seriously though, this bird can crush a rabbit skull with one foot.

Yes although there are pretty many falconers here in the USA. Not a lot of regular people now much or anything about the sport. I love helping out with the show and informing people about the falconry and the birds. Wow I haven't ever gotten to work with any kinds of eagles, and I have never seen a crowned eagle in person. I bet it is very impressive looking!

Eagles seem to be the "next level" birds of prey for many falconers because anybody with an eagle on their arm = instant badass! But yes, they are impressive and powerful creatures.

Yeah, where I live there is too many trees and neighborhood, and not enough wide open land to really fly or hunt an eagle.

You get your falconry license though the state game commission.

Thanks for the invite to the group! I don't really get so see kestrels much though, I was lucky at a falconry centre...would it be sensible to join even if I'm not likely to see kestrels that often...? I love birds of prey, so...
