but I've always adored Sasori's intellect,
and I have grown a fascination for puppets/dolls as if late,

Deidara paced back and forth, annoyed. Sasori-no-danna told him to meet him there for the mission, and though he says he hates to keep people waiting, he was quite late. Deidara sighed as he sat down on a rock. "when is he going to get here..." He mutter angrily.

The evergreen forest was buzzing with life, animals darting across the shady trees, a warm breeze sliding across the puppet's carved form. He gazed at the dirt that cut in between the spaces of his ninja sandals. The disgust flooded into his core; if so much as one more puddle of filth affected his parts, he'd have to do yet another polishing. I may as well get termites again if I stay as much as another second out here. He knew he should've worn Hiruko when he marched out- he had to deal with pesky ants, leaving him in a late state of time- angering him even more, as he did not like to keep others waiting. The leaves at least gave him a break from the heat lingering about him, dappled shadows causing patterns across the forest flower.

At last, the redhead reached the place where the fellow blonde was resting, shaking the mud from his sandals, making a slight groan of distaste. "Greetings, brat; I have to apologize." The puppeteer flicked the last of the dirt from the bottoms of his cyan nails and gave him a dull glance. "This place was giving me a bad case of bugs and it was annoying me to my limit."

Sasori merely nodded and brushed away the rest of the muck and scum
that was bothering him the whole way there. Fixing his short red locks, he
shifted his feet and gave a rather chilling stare with glassy orbs. He waited
for an unknown signal; the scorpion snorted. "Well? What did leader-sama
drag us here for? I didn't go through all that ruckus for nothing, did I?"

Just then, a scroll appeared with a little puff of smoke, hardly noticeable if you weren't waiting for something. "well, I guess that's are mission, hmm." Said Deidara, motioning towards it.

Sasori puffed, slightly reaching over to pick up the scroll, the teal nails dragging over paper that was- wrinkly; yellow stains visible, aging in passing history. What was inside it- what story did it have to tell? The puppeteer snuffed and dragged the scroll open; it revealed charts and sketches of human anatomy concepts he had never really seen before. The dialect was a clear sign that it was quite an aged text, high vocabulary scribbled by a quil dipped in ink, and some smudges made it hard to complicate the obvious. His oak eyes scanned it questionably. It seemed huge chunks, or paragraphs, had been erased. The redhead gave his partner a quick glance. "Do you know anything surrounding this, Deidara? It seems Leader-sama wants us to find the missing information."

Sasori's face was grim, feeling slight pangs of determination to get to the bottom of the discovery that leader-sama laid out before them. The redhead messed with human anatomy many times before, the concept of art itself forcing you to learn the basics of human form anyway- he spent picking at it physically or mentally when making puppets out of them alone. Sasori observed the words, the calligraphy engraved in the sides of his core. The dialect seemed familiar; he felt like he had heard of words before- in the air, not just on the surface. The graphs were seen again. Science equations littered the sides, mathematics buzzing into life- handwriting that clicked like the gears that he tinkered for a living. Information about human life and revival was what this scroll held. The redhead slowly turned to his partner, an adamant look given.
"I have a feeling I know who wrote this nonsense."

"Who else would dive into the masters of kinjutsu, brat?" Sasori scoffed, motioning with a finger. The glimmering cyan nail drifted across the charts and well-developed equations once more, pointing to keywords and solutions to problems. "Filtering chakra though corpses to make them living- take their veins first and drag it to the brain, and activate the jutsu; the shinobi should be in to your control." He read aloud, his tone straightforward. "It's a process of handsigns to... Reanimation. Who does this, exactly? Who masters such powers?" The puppeteer gave the blonde a quick glance before suddenly bouncing his finger towards a small signature that laid on the end of the aging paper; a elegant writing that was as bright as day. The name passed through his glossy lips like melting ice. "Orochimaru."

Sasori then moved his pointing finger towards the paragraphs that seemed to be missing or clumsily erased. "Perhaps Leader-sama wants us to find the missing information- like a jigsaw puzzle; try to fit categories and find what Orochimaru's planning, also- I caught a glimpse at another thing in this aging scroll." As said, the puppeteer took his other hand and pulled it out farther, revealing more and more on every inch. His finger drifted again, and soon it motioned towards a single 'chapter' in the never-ending research. It was some sort of messy sketch of one of the tailed beasts, the One-Tail he assumed, but it was a bit odd- as all of the information surrounding it had gone missing. It was just a lonely drawing with blank space surrounding it on all sides.
"Orochimaru seems to want something to do with one of the tails- and our boss wants us to infiltrate this and get the monster before he does."

"Affirmative." Sasori clicked his fingers along the side of his face in absent thought. His eyes were spaced out. "His little 'partner' is Kabuto, perhaps we'll find him first before anything else. Orochimaru is always a moving man, so it's hard to say he's always with his subjects."

"Way ahead of you, Danna, un." said Deidara as he opened up his palm and a little clay bird flew out. He made the hand sigh and with a puff of smoke, the bird grew. Deidara climbed on and motioned for Sasori to join him.

Sasori encased himself in his scroll, unknown mist starting
to swirl around his feet as his height suddenly cut in half.
The back arched, an iron scorpion tail gleaming in the daylight
and an uncanny puppet face appearing from the mysterious cloud.
Once the puppeteer found himself comfortable in Hiruko,
he crawled towards the clay bird, using the wing as stairs to
the top. Sasori wrapped his tail around his feet and poked his
head up from his collar.
"Onward." His now rough voice demanded.

Sasori watched in muted words as the Sound began to approach over the
horizon, The sky beginning to mix with colors of later hours, amber setting
the clouds ablaze. A chilly breeze was a sign that the atmosphere was beginning
to form into the icy temperatures of the night. Poking up from his collar again,
he slightly moved a bit over to gaze over the edge, looking at the shady trees
and the dark shadows beneath them. He couldn't  see anything from where he
was looking, exactly, but he could see the faint outlines  of Orochimaru's subjects.

to make too big of a scene for this interrogation, but we can get
them into our solid grasp." The puppet face shown uncanny in
the evening lighting as his voice started to fall into a grave tone.
"However if they do not give us what we want about Kabuto
or even Orochimaru himself- we can give a good killing..."
