Just had a look through your portfolio, which is extremely impressive; I couldn't do what you do with a pencil, let alone a chisel. You have a very special talent for sculpture!

Your skills go way beyond mental!! Best wood working I've seen in decades and I'm an old wood rat.
I've sent you an invite. I'd love to do a feature in my "Meet the Artist" series.

Thanks, Doc. Checked out your page. Pneumonia's a bummer....almost died from it as a kid. Glad you're better.Β
If you're an "old rat" I must be an older rat. Β Too old to figure out how to navigate the DeviantArt website very well. It's been years and I'm still lost and confused. Β
Take care...NT

Most everything I make goes directly to ebay for auction starting at 97-cents. I usually list 2-3 pieces a week.

Discovered Nancy's art a couple of weeks ago, and I am so amazed by it, and even more amazed that I had not seen it long before now.

Love your carvings! I've been collecting drift wood with the dream of carving them. Might I ask what sort of tools a beginner wood carver should look into purchasing?

psychosculptor In reply to sassamafracken [2014-09-01 15:37:56 +0000 UTC]
Mainly power tools, specifically the "Foredom" rotary grinder. It's much like a dentist drill. About ten different types of burrs when carving a fairly small piece. With larger driftwood I use angle grinders, die grinders and even a chainsaw. Β I sometimes use knives and chisels as well....whatever it takes! Β Good luck and have fun carving.....NT

I actually just ordered a Foredom... looking forward to it arriving, and getting to know how to use it. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks!! Using a rotary grinder sounds way more interesting than buying a bunch of wood chip knives...

Beautiful, out standing work. You have grabbed an incredibly difficult medium and forced it into submission. I tip my hat to you.Β
