If I might put in a suggestion, try boosting the constrast for your scans. It could do wonders for your blacks. :) (Smile)

If you've got photoshop there are a lot of little things you can tweak to improve bad scans in general. Play around with the settings on the image tab a bit. You'll see what I mean. :) (Smile)
