okay so i gotta find the story we were reading cause i want this to be accurate.
ok so there's this story called "Ten Ways We Get The Odds Wrong" by a lady named Maia Szalavitz and we were reading it in my english class this morning and we get to a paragraph that says
Fear feels like anything but a cool and detached computation of the odds. But that's precisely what it is, a lightening-fast risk assessment performed by your reptilian brain, which is ever on the lookout for danger. etc etc
and at the end of the paragraph Mrs. Jones says, "Okay so what do we get from that paragraph?" and me being me, and having automatically latched onto the words "reptilian brain" as soon as i read them, blurted out "She called us lizards!!" and the whole class just fell apart and started laughing. and my poor teacher was like "That's all you get out of it?! 'she called us lizards' really." at this point she was giving me a confused and disappointed look cause im her favorite student and then i grinned and gave her the real answer and she was like "you're adorable"
so yeah my cute english teacher (who i totally don't have a crush on) called me adorable and i melted
