# About me
Hey!I'm Meaghan ~
Ich spreche Deutsch. Wenn du Deutsch sprichst, bitte sprich mit mir auf Deutsch.
I cosplay ~ I'm working on some cosplays from Dr. Who LotR and Brave right now.
I like drawing with pencil, and also painting in acrylic, oil, and sometimes watercolour. I also take lots of random photos and sometimes decide to upload those.
I love music, I play piano and violin. I like folky and foreign music (though I get my annual dose of horrible pop from the Eurovision Song Contest)
Feel free to talk to me, I love to meet new people :)

Dear, people like you are the reason why I run this blog. So of course I want to talk with you!

Oh excellent!!
I can imagine, but you really do pull of the character, or at least how I imagine he would be... I dunno how did you even decide on his character? Anyways I think you're hilarious. It's nice to see people cosplaying the British brothers as well, even though they're not technically official characters I think they're awesome

It isn't easy to be 'in character' if you got an character who is fanmade and thats personality is so - how can I describe this? - It doesn't exist a main version of his personality yet and yeah, that's a bit difficult - but I've tried my best! And I'm so happy that you like it! Oh yessssss the UK Bros are awesome! I love the idea of them so much!

polymath13 In reply to StJosef [2012-08-11 00:58:15 +0000 UTC]
I understand what you mean! In some ways I wish characters like Scotland were "official" just so that more people would know who they are and stuff, but in some ways it's fun to imagine what those countries personifications would be like. I find it fun that most of people's characters for the UK brothers are very similar, because I feel like those countries have really strong "personalities" and stereotypes, which makes it easy, I guess. But yess aren't they great, they're such a fun group, I wish there were more people cosplaying and drawing them!
And I've never actually been to Scotland, but I've of course heard all the stereotypes and yours is spot on XD

Oh hey, if you don't mind....erm could you help me out? As a fellow Hetalian and cosplayer? I'm trying to write a script for a video based on the UK (we're coming up with our own characters for Scotland, Wales, and N. Ireland) And maybe could you give me some tips on Welsh stereotypes/accents ect.? It's ok if you don't have time or whatever. Thank you!!

I think our Wales is gonna be a guy. (I'm going to probably end up playing him XD) Thanks so much! I'm trying to write this and include as much history and stereotypes and stuff like that, but also make it funny and not offend anyone. Which is proving to be very difficult. Anyway thanks for agreeing to help out!!

On how we would look then he would have Dark features like hair, eye's etc. and his clothes would include either something like a farmer's outfit like waistcoat, flat cap, boot's that sort of thing. he would have a thick accent, not so much like Scottish or Irish but if you want to hear good accents look up on Google 'Gavin and Stacey' and the character Bryn and it sounds like that ^-^ If I was you i'd go with more of a Valley accent and not a Cardiff one, just for some personality. He would probably get mistaken for England but not in a Canada way, more of a 'oh ain't you England though?' and not a 'Who?' way, in which would be something that would piss Wales off XD

Thanks again (And thanks for the fav as well <3 )
Haha you've got me all over youtube now watching Gavin and Stacey. Yea what we have so far, he's not the happiest when England's around, especially when England acts controlling over him, then he gets very pissed off.
I know, Google translate it good only for one word at a time. Unfortunately, the only other language I speak is German, but I can tell when I type something in German, that the English is totally messed up or vice versa.
I really like the outfit idea too, I'm gonna work on that (As I mentioned, I'm spending the summer in England and therefore away from my sewing machine, so it'll be a month before I can do anything ) Thanks again for the help. You're seriously the most helpful person, this is helping me so much!!

No problem I always love to help! ^-^ and yeah Gavin and Stacey is awesome XD I can only speak English, a little Welsh and a Little French, Tried to lean Russian but I thought it was too hard and gave up ;n; and if your in England, depending where you are you should pop in Wales and look around for a bit in Cardiff :3

Ahah yes it is! I've started actually watching it now on Netflix, it's very funny! (And usually I don't like watching television, so a full two episodes in a row was a big deal for me XD) Good for you for knowing even a bit of all those languages! I can speak German conversationally, because I went to school there for a semester when I was 15, and I can read and kinda understand Danish because it's related. I'm the Finland of my group, and I have this thing where I feel guilty cosplaying a Hetalia country without knowing a lot about the country's history/language and stuff, so I am attempting to learn some Finnish (It's incredibly difficult )
Ah I wish I could pop into Wales!! Problem is, I'm staying with some family friends and as a result don't have much freedom to just travel. I'm living in Hastings, so I think it'd be around four hours by train too? I'm not sure...

Yeah Gavin and Stacey is one of my favorite XD and I love Finland cosplayers ;w; hence partly why I cosplay Sweden X3 and I've been trying to get into Swedish as well and Finnish is really hard because it's totally different to the other Nordics~ and If its a little hard to get to Wales then it's okay Englad is pretty close! ^-^

You've got me hooked on it.. I'm gonna be up all night watching (and studying those Welsh accents as well!)
Ahaha I love Sweden cosplayers as well Finland's that character that I just always end up cosplaying.... I dunno why. My friends say we have the same personality (I can kinda see where they're coming from, I am kinda strange, and once you get to know me I never shut up) I absolutely adore all of the nordics tho <33
Yea I'm almost there!! I just searched the train fare to Cardiff for the hell of it.. and it's 95 pounds that seems a bit absurd so I guess that probably won't be happening...

Ah I wish you were in my group... we haven't got a Sweden I wish I could go over to Wales, I can definitely see myself coming back over here though,I really like live on this side of the ocean I was looking into going to university over in the UK (honestly because the fees are so much cheaper than in the US, plane tickets included) but I don't know how good of a chance I've got, being from out of the country and all. Though it is much easier being an American in England as opposed to my experience over on the continent.... Europeans don't seem to like us, but I was on the bus the other day talking to my friend on the phone, and when I hung up these girls came over and told me they liked my accent.... I wasn't really sure what to say to that XD Haha

aww stupid ocean why is it always in the way I've got a year in school still too, I dunno how the system works over here exactly (No one's been able to explain it to me sucessfully) but I might think about trying to get in over here.... it would certainly save me a lot of money, and everyone's been helpful and friendly and stuff, I mean I guess it depends on what I want to study and if i can find a place that offers that. And understand the accents... er yea I'm working on that. I don't know what you're talking about, It's clearly you all who put on the accents, I haven't got one XD It's funny cause when I'm at home I know I have a lot stronger of an accent, I just don't think about it. Like, when I'm over here talking to English people I try to talk a lot clearer and without slang so it's easier to understand and all that, but if I call home or something, and I consciously think about it, I can hear my accent getting stronger (I'm from the northern east coast, so I've got a real New England accent XD ) Anyways I can't imagine why people over here like American accents, but it's certainly been fun for me.

Awesome? Not so sure about that one. It's funny though because when I go into a shop or something, it's normal until I ask someone a question, and then they just kinda stare at me for a second, like "you don't belong here" But honestly I don't like how we sound...not that I can hear it anyways XD

Don't hate your accent! Why don't you like it? D:

You wanna know a secret?? (you have to promise not to tell anyone) If anyone's accent makes them sound unintelligent it's people with a southern drawl from the US. We hear them and no matter what they're saying it doesn't sound smart. I think Welsh accents are cool

Haha most people think americans have an hillbilly accent over here and tend to do impressions of them if someone tells them to do an american accent X3
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
polymath13 In reply to GilbirdX [2012-07-13 17:22:55 +0000 UTC]
damn.... I'm not though! Ahaha these English people think I'm a total hillbilly cause I was so surprised at how close together their houses are, and that there are actual cars and people going by
Whenever people try and do American accents, I wonder if that's really how I sound to them, and then cry a little inside...

Well that's cause you DO all drink tea.... the closest I've come to coffee is the instant stuff! And what is a crumpet?
Haha I was on the bus the other day and my friends friend came up and started asking me all these questions (It was really funny cause he asked the most complicated things cause he wanted to hear my accent) but anyways, he just stopped and was like "So why do you call it soccer?" And I was like "Well because it is soccer, now explain to me cricket, and crumpets, and the whole pants/trousers thing, and why you have funny names for all of your vegetables. D:" And all the English people just laughed at my American-ness
