Fading DreamsI once had dreams
like all the rest
dreams of the future
of things to come
of thing I would do
I remember once dreaming
for a job
that was more than a job
a labor of love
to fulfill my passions
and inner desires
I remember once dreaming
for someone
to walk by my side
hand in hand
through lifeβs journey
and all it entails
I remember once dreaming
of a family of my own
to love as I was once loved
to pass on what I was taught
and see them grow
as my parents once did for me
But as time has past
they started to fade
Life
seem to made me forget
what I once dreamed of
of the hopes I once had
My dreams
are now dust upon the floor
being swept under the rug
as I just try to survive
in a world
that despises dreamers
and their dreams
Reality of the world
has shattered
the stain glass window
of my inner hopes and dreams
to lay upon the floor
as bit of glass
upon the floor
Reality

Reality
is where all dreams go
to fade away
as we slowly
age and wither away
