Now I find you've put the poem in your Worlds collection (what a neat title!). I'm so pleased you liked it enough to do that. It was about the fourth or fifth poem I'd ever written, and quite late in life, too. Β

Questions: are any of these pieces posted to DA individually?Β Are you in a poetry or college lit class at all? And do you have a trusted reader who helps you streamline your work for publication? You have a wonderful instinct for the just right personal/intimate detail and are so gifted in use of very effective analogy. Most notably, you have a voice that has something important to say for women everywhere. We sit up and take notice no matter our color, 'class', age or sexual preferences.Β Kudos my lovely! Β

ok, so:
1. yeah, "wasteland baby" has been posted to dA, because i wrote that one before i decided to make this whole project. snippets of these were also posted on my tumblr, but only for poems that were prompted.
2. i actually am not. i'm majoring in social work.
3. sometimes i ask for some of my poet friends' opinions on some work, usually depending on what sort of work it is i'd ask a different person, you know? but there isn't one particular trusted reader i have, and i usually put together stuff on my own.
and wow, that really means a lot coming from you - that you find this so relevant and relatable. thank you so much, this comment honestly means the world

I'm thinking about what you could do to get your work accepted by the poetry publishing industry. Do you ever send pieces out to reputable mags? To one at a time, of course.Β Most poets get loads of rejections doing this, but one acceptance could get the ball rolling. Are you talking to people on DA who have had pieces published?Β

this is really sweet of you!! i've sent work to a few mags, gotten some published as well (usually i choose a mag based on how good the editors seem to be, and also by judging the quality of the work they publish - some mags that seem to have a good name for themselves don't publish the kind of work i personally enjoy, so i don't submit my work there, if that makes sense?) i'm lowkey taking a break from sending work out -Β it can be sort of draining, and something i noticed is that the kind of support i built from it seemed sort of superficial, which is to say most people weren't following me for my writing?? like if i posted something by myself nobody would read it. hmmΒ
i did attempt to start a forum thread abt publishing, and have gotten like, insights and things from people.Β right now though im just working on figuring out exactly what i want to do. im also looking at local publisher options, and trying to see if i can do something official with an expanded version of baby wasteland :'))Β
