and honestly I just use what I like as inspiration!
I made a character with a mullet solemnly because I like mullets and I built his personality and appearance around that
So like if you like something try building a character that would seem like if you looked at them you could tell that this character does like what it is wearing, looks like, or acts like c:
I mainly use this way for humans but for animals it can work the same too
