To clarify, I am not slamming people with ANY number of page views, big or small...look at my page, for crying out loud. I was simply wondering if that was a MOTIVE behind the slams I was reading.
As for teenagers...I was a teenager once, and the one thing I can tell you that I know now is that I sure as hell didn't know as much as I thought I did back then. That's not saying teenagers can't have good opinions. Not at all. What that's saying is that, when someone comes onto a page like this and starts LOUDLY proclaiming that something "isn't art", it should be taken with a grain of salt if that person is 15 years old. People who's JOB it is to teach and study art cannot agree on what art is...a 15 year old is not going to have the answer.
Sorry, but that's just the facts. I'm not slamming teenagers. I play paintball and go to church with teenagers quite often. I have some good friends who are in their teens (and I'm 29). But I guarantee you this, any teenager out there--write down now as much of what you believe as you can...opinions, ethics, beliefs about the world, whatever--and then save that, untouched, and look at it in 15 years. You'll see what I mean then...odds are a majority of it will have changed. And no, I didn't believe that would be true when I was a teenager either.
Anyway, sorry to see your work taken down, Nudity. But if it was for safety reasons, I don't begrudge you that at all.

You have some really interesting work, it's progressing nicely, when your film comes i hope to see even more nice shots, maybe some different techniques incorporated, Good job, and keep it up. Don't bother to listen to others that put you down, art is in the eye of the beholder.

wow, congrats on the controversy! its alot better to get a bad reaction than to get no reaction at all. it means people are listening. i wish i could look through your gallery, but as im only 14, and my computer is in the middle of my living room, it not a bright idea. i have to say lestat sound like a very fair critic, and what he/she has to say seems to make sense. i also agree with what brotherbock had to say about chibis and anime and blood, but i dont like what he said about teenagers and people with less than 1000 pageviews. just because someone is young or not a great artist doesnt mean they cant have a valid opinion. thats not to say some of us, half of us, most of us, or any of us are right, it just means that no-one should be judged or categorized by their age. a 45-year-old might find your work to be disgusting and insulting, and a 14-year old might find it to be fine art. anyways.... ima stop rambling, the point is, keep doing what inspires you, and dont let negative criticism destroy you. you should acknowledge peoples positive and negative opinions alike, but dont let the negative ones overshadow the positive ones.

So you've got the bozos who declare loudly that THEY and ONLY THEY know what art is, and by the way that YOU haven't put enough work into your pieces for them to be art....(apparently their surveillance cameras in your house are working well). I'm curious as to where they got their art degrees from, and why even that would make them authorities.
Then you've got the cowardly piece of crap who calls your wife a slut...that's really very mature. Of course, what do you expect...Setsu is 17 years old, has gotten 433 page views in a year and a half (jealousy? Hell, even I'm on a pace to beat that), lists his interests as "being a better person than you", thinks "poets suck", and apparently likes to STEAL music with Kazaa. So, of course, HE'S a person we should all listen to.
Then there are the geniuses who claim that you make them sick, but yet they took the time to look through your whole gallery...And one of these folks called YOU a moron...let me just add that Waterslayer ALSO has the wisdom and forethought only being 15 years old can bring, so of course he must be correct in determining who are artists are who are not. (If you see puddles of puke in your local Art Museum, you can at least know Waterslayer has been there, getting sick over all the other non-art nudity while trying to find the Impressionist Space Robot collection.)
It looks like you've gotten a nice cross-section of the real bottom-feeders here at DA, and in your first couple of days too. Good work! 
Keep posting the CREATIONS that you feel like posting. We express OURSELVES through art...we do not express other people through art.
I might add that, whether you agree with him or not, Lestat certainly knows how to post criticism, true criticism, with an eye towards helping the artist grow. THAT is the kind of critic I would welcome on my page any day.

I've looked through your work, and I've read all the comments posted in here and on various peices you've decided to post. From what I see you are truthfully submitting what you believe to be art. Your skill could use a great deal of improvement. We can all learn from bad comments. Take what people have said, and rather then get angry try to improve on them. From what I've heard the majority of those who do not like your work don't like it because it's just nude shots. There is no use of light, emotion, or feeling. In some pieces you show a little effort, but give up. I think you might want to slow down your production. Take your shot when the feeling is right. When you feel it in your gut. And then when you have it. Manipulate it a bit. Touch it up a bit in photoshop or something like it. It will help others to see what it is you see. By posting in here you are trying to reach people with your work. You will do it if you take your time, and submit things that have been properly worked on and given the time they deserve. I hope to see more work from you in the future hopefully of greater caliber.
P.S. Though I do not dissapprove of your work persay, I think it's in bad taste that you would use your wife as your model so that all are free to veiw her. Just my opinion, and I'm sure I'm one of the few who think so.

Don't take the "bad" comments too seriously if they don't say something constructive. The only people worth listening to are the ones who have something to say that will help you grow as an artist. Your first few pieces were good and I could see potential in them you just need more time to develop what you have going.

And josieaguilar is right... in art school we spend hours upon hours drawing and painting naked women and men. It is an essential part of learning how to be a great artist.
