Well. I had found your quick leg tutorial and read your message in the bottom. I know what it is like to never have people look at your other stuff, just your tutorial/guides. So I figured the most I could do was look through your other stuff. I do like it. <3

Thank you!
Makes me feel a little better that at least some people take the time to read artist comments still.
I'm glad you liked what you found in my gallery though.

No problem.
I've been looking at doing a sideless surcoat lately, but I'm too much of a chicken shit to attempt it. x.x

they're easier than you'd think, really just a kirtle with sides cut out. I'd suggest making yours a little wider in the middle, as this one's cut so small down the middle, it gets twisted around and discombobulated VERY easily.

I planned on making the piece down the middle thicker as it was. And its good to know that it does get tangled it your make it smaller.
Another problem I had was that a lot of the sideless surecotes that I saw just looked bad on the wearer, and I was worried it wouldn't look okay on me. But after seeing yours and that they can be made well and look nice it gave me hope.
Did you use a heavy fabric for it?

Aw~ Thank you, I'm glad! ^_^ This is, I swear, some of the heaviest brocade evar. Plus, the fur adds a lot of weight to it. Most of the unflattering problems that come with these can be avoided by just a little extra planning. (like picking fabrics that won't stick together, or making sure the cotehardie is fitted enough to be worn under the sideless, or the sideless is loose enough, etc.)

u.u I finally made one, and it was a diaster. It ended up being too tight for my pleasure and I didn't have enough of the fabric that I got. Which sucks cause everyone told me I'd have enough. Either way I know how to make them now and I appreciate your tips.
