It's kind of fun to interact with people from overseas who likes Japanese manga series I like.

Yeah, originally.
I live in the United States longer now than I spent my youth in Japan though.
All of my family and friends are all still there, so I still commute in Japanese a lot.
I was born and grew up in Tokyo, super crazy big busy city, so I always dreamed of living in country side LOL

It's beautiful country, safe and easy to travel, for the most part, if you never have been anywhere in Asia.
Exchange rates are pretty high, place to stay is expensive also. That's down side of it

As much as I love my motherland, I think it's tough society to live.
For that reason I resides in US, but it's always fun to visit once a while

Yeah living expense is pretty high for everything...
Though compared to US, I noticed something like, beautifully designed furnitures, you can find it pretty easily over there.
but then again you pay so much for a small apartment and utility is usually not included in the rent.
Food cost varies. You can eat pretty cheap and well (and tasty ) if you know where to go and what to get.
But then a beautifully crafted apple is like $3 for per apple (oh but they are so good...)

Health-care is actually pretty good compared to US, but I'm not sure if it's same for foreign people...

but yeah I recommend the visit
It sure is beautiful place, especially in spring and fall.

Yeah, it's relatively low.
People in my country are very polite in general.
Though they are not as friendly as people here.
They might appear as shy and maybe sometimes distanced and closed so you might feel lonely.
(though people in countryside can be also super friendly, too, so I guess it's really depend on where you go and how you interact with them)

Though for past several years, I've noticed there's increased number of news that involves drugs and guns than before, which saddens me

Hmnn I don't know exactly if they are encouraging, but I have noticed that there's increase of life style that Japanese women chose career over marriage and settling down.
About 5 years ago, it was my first time I had a female taxi driver. There's a cute Italian restaurant by my mother's house that is owned by a sweet lady who is the head chef.
Society slightly changed since I left my homeland. There's more women enjoying working and doing things they like to do in their lives which I think wonderful.
But then I hear news like many schools are closing because there aren't that many children.
It's tough country to raise a child, too, I think, in so many ways.

Nahh... I think it's just going through changes, just like any other countries in the world are now.
Some places are having it more tougher than the other, and sad to say that Japan's change is struggle one, I think, but I believe my country is strong enough to get though

Nah XD
I mean, there's wonderful selection of fresh seafood you can get pretty much from anywhere in Japan, since we are all surrounded by ocean and they are relatively cheap, so yeah you can get plenty of them but we also have wide variety of seasonal vegetables available through year. Meat is kind of expensive but they are tasty, if you eat meat. Food there always taste fresh and that's one thing I really miss when I'm here.
