Hello From Tim aka digital3drealm.I,m a musician also just about any stringed instrument I have played. We raised a large family of artists and musicians.I,m 55 most our children are grown and have productive careers. We still have three boys and one girl living with us and almost ready to leave the nest.Take Care from Tim and family

musicandmotion In reply to Digital3dRealm [2009-08-31 21:26:58 +0000 UTC]

Sadly the only thing my career has produced is a lot of floundering and a meagre to subsistence income. Often running short on every budget.

Sigh.

Thanks for the well wishes.

Just wanted to say I browsed through your gallery and stood amazed. You've got great stuff.

Pretty pictures. Those balette-pics must have taken some time to succeed...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

musicandmotion In reply to Runneri [2009-05-04 15:22:56 +0000 UTC]

Time is not a luxury I get at dance competitions... 500 dancers, 3 days. No knowledge of the choreography at all.

And no time to "spray and pray" either. 15 images max per dancer as strongly insisted upon by the contractor. There is just no time to deal with any more images. There isn't even enough time to review any of the images I take during the job.

It's a crazy gig for sure.

Hi, I'm a fan of 96/24 sound. Glad to see fans of high-def sound here on dA. I admire what you do. Are you related to Dave Ogilvie, by the way?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

musicandmotion In reply to wizfrikiman [2009-05-02 14:42:13 +0000 UTC]

I try to record everything in 96/24 when I'm on gigs... but so few people actually want/hear the difference. Sigh.

I do not know Dave.

Thanks for the watch!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

wizfrikiman In reply to musicandmotion [2009-05-02 20:25:12 +0000 UTC]

I can actually spot the difference, Cameron (mind if i call you Cameron?). 44/16 has become tiring as heck, if you ask me. I've worked with stage acting and rock concerts in the past, so I see what you mean. I'm interested in digital audio production, though, and I could sure use some advice from you. Once I get the equipment, that is!

Dave Ogilvie is a Canadian industrial music producer. He has worked with singer Kevin Ogilvie, with whom he has no relation at all. Sorry if you found this confusing.

No problem!

musicandmotion In reply to wizfrikiman [2009-05-03 02:30:34 +0000 UTC]

Cool... I'll have to look him up and see if he needs my help!

As for your audio needs ask away!

Cheers.

wizfrikiman In reply to musicandmotion [2009-05-03 11:53:16 +0000 UTC]

Okay! By the way, have you ever considered doing a surround mix? A company called Audyssey Labs plans to make a 9.1 audio system (nine satellite speakers and one subwoofer). Apparently, their "plans" don't include the fact that few buyers will actually be able to fit TEN speakers in their home theater...

musicandmotion In reply to wizfrikiman [2009-05-03 12:00:36 +0000 UTC]

I don't have customers for that... My big thing is live concert recording which always wind up as a 2-track mix-down.

no customers = no way to pay for the extra gear req.

I don't even have a 5.1 monitoring system.
