Hey, Samwise! I'm finally coming to get the game for PC, and I need to know a few things about it. What does Steam do to the computer when you get it on? Does it mess with any other programs?

Steam is a video game client: you can buy games, download them, and play them directly through it. You can also add your other games to it so then you can interact with your Steam friends while playing. Best of all, Steam itself is free, and once you buy a game, you can install it as many times as you like. I think Valve has done a fine job on it.
As far as I know, there aren't any problems with Steam and other programs. However, I am using Windows XP, and I'm not sure how stable it is on Vista.
