# About me
I'm a herper. Say what you will. I have had a major interest in reptiles and amphibians for as long as I can remember, and I've been going out with the sole purpose of finding them in their natural habitat since I was 7 or 8.I have possessed and housed many snakes over the past and I've been a successful breeder as well.
I enjoy looking at and learning from other people's photos, and I enjoy meeting people who enjoy herpetology as much as I do.
I grew up in northern California, but I currently reside in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
For some reason, I've been taking pictures of bugs lately. I'm not really into 'em, but when the herping is slow, I guess it gives me something to do.. haha

Hello fellow herper. I have been catching/keeping/breeding snakes for a little over 30 years now.

Just wanted to drop by and say that I adore your herp photography. Thank you for sharing it! I stumbled across your photographs (through the San Diego Nightsnake, specifically) while studying for an upcoming test , and I enjoyed seeing some herps from other areas. I've mostly been exposed to the ones in the pnw (I'm still new to herps). It was lovely to see some ones I hadn't seen before.

It's just a hobby for the most part, although I do get some shots featured and published here in there.

Thank you for the watch!
I wish I could see and find all those herps you've seen.
Where I live there aren't really an abundance in them, so I would love to be somewheer where there were loads. ^^

I live in Sweden. ^^ We have three snakes, two lisards, two newts/salamanders and maybe around 10 frogs and toads. ^^
So, not so much. ^^

You have Vipera berus. I'd give up any snake I've found in the US to find Vipera.

Thanks a lot!
The most important tips I can offer you are:
1. Get out as much as possible.
2. Don't be discouraged by not finding anything. (I have plenty of days I don't find much)
3. Have fun!
I've put in a lot of time over the years figuring out when and where to find specific things. I read herp books and websites constantly, I take massive amounts of notes, and I don't really do anything else. Depending on what part of the country your in, I can definitely offer some tips on what sorts of habitats to look for and when, and what you might find there (I'm familiar with just about every species of herp in the US) as well as what you can do to find some good, productive spots.

You know, I'm glad I found you. I've always loved things like bugs, frogs, snakes, that kinda thing, as weird as it may be to some people. I could watch them for hours. I've decided that I'd like to be a herpetologist when I grow older, or at least an overall zoologist, since I'm such a sap for animals. Thank you for posting these amazing photos, and I hope you can keep adding more

Hi Michael !
Here's another picture I submitted, and which I believe to be nice, even if it's a common species of frog.

Your work is totally stunning! I love snakes and used to have 2 of them. Ayame, and TinkerBell. Lol. My sister got to name them. They got to be around 3 feet before my dad couldnt handle them anymore. They were Boa's. I miss them dearly.
Anyway, lol Keep of the amzing work, if you have the time take a look at my work
Have a great day!
