on your leather deer mask. (it is awesome spirit mask.) how did you sew the leather,? did you have to wet the leather, or use soft leather to create the shape. Did you use a form for the bottom? (to keep the shape, and support the antlers)? your masks are awesome!!!!!

Thanks! I have more process pictures on my blog: [link]
I start with a wire frame, then use hot glue (rather sparingly) to attach the buckskin, which is a very soft leather. I used an awl to make a hole first, then a leather needle to thread the leather lace. The antlers are wired and lashed onto the frame and the rabbit fur was put over it so you can't see The antlers are a set with the skull cap still attached, which is much easier then trying to attach loose antlers.

thank you so much for the response. I would like to try to make a mask similar but an elk instead. I love your costumes, and work. The metal frame is a great idea. Did you use sautering tool to (small flame torch) to weld the joints. You did a great job. I am sorry i ask so many questions. But, if you don't mind may i ask did you order the leather/fur/ (necklace teeth and shell) from some wheres? Or find them locally. I really love the (way you created your masks) and working with leather..i love them. Thank you!! I love your work!!!!!!!!

Thanks! I'm glad you are excited about the work I used 16 gauge wire and soldering wire called 'acid core' which means the solder and the flux are together. The I used a mini blow torch to heat up the joints before applying the acid core. Be careful with elk antlers because they are quite a bit larger and heavier. If you want the mask to be wearable be concious of the weight. I got most of my materials from a tent at the Tucson Gem Show (oddly enough) but 'the leather guy' on eBay is a great source. Good luck on your project! I hope to see pictures!
