Sheffield looks good I just looked it up. I'm going to Warwick. Warwick also have good placements but only if you're really smart.
What's it like at GSK?

Wow... I would like to do the year out if I get the opportunity, although I have a feeling sorting this out with student finance would be tricky...
lol

It's not too bad really, just a huge amount of forms and pointless questions When you're in second year look around pharmaceutical companies websites they'll usually be advertising placements at the start of the year. My student finanace people were being annoying for this year.. according to them the new coruse I was on to let me go away for the year didn't exist 'till about 2 months ago :s

I'm not good with forms, their pointless questions get me all angry
Student Finance just are really annoying - I sent the forms off at the earliest possible date but I don't have my grant yet! I need that to live off!

Yeah I'm lucky I just wish they were more organised
I dunno that'd I'd to a placement with a drug company, previously Warwick has had some placements with the NHS blood transfusion service and the forensic service. I'd go for one of those if I had the opportunity.

Is Fraulein Nein the ninth cat you've owned?

She's actually the 12th, but Twelve as a name just didn't have the right ring to it... 12 cats is a lot over 5 decades, I know, but sometimes I've had two or more at a time. All died or had to be put down, except one that was given away, because it couldn't get along with the other, older cat, and two went missing (probably having feline leukemia and going off to die). Hence, my kitten was going to be called Thirteen. But the kids thought that was a stupid name. He is Hank, the thirteenth.

Ah, okay.
We used to have two cats who we got 10 years ago, both have died now so we're not that lucky with them either.
It must be sad to have them go missing.
Hank, the thirteenth! Fantastic.

Having cats die or need to be put down is heartbreaking, but, yes, not knowing what happened to the missing cats is sad. I spent a lot of time on the human society database, looking through pictures of found cats, hoping I'd find them. It was also sad that something that should have been a happy experience for the kids (getting 3 kittens) turned out so badly.:/

Yeah, I'd find it difficult to not know what happened to them. My friend was lucky when her cat returned after being missing for 3 days. They think she got locked in someone's shed.

Two of my former cats did that. The feline tendency to disappear for a spell is probably behind the nursery rhyme, Pussy cat, pussy cat, where have you been?
I think they run from or after something and get lost temporarily. They don't seem to have the sense of direction that dogs do. Cats also know that they can use their cat wiles to find another human to feed them and pat them.

Indeed. Cats tend to go exploring, I think, and then get lost.

Oddly, 3 days seems to be the magic number. They come back like binge drunks after a lost weekend.

almost. I don't have so many sketches, but it's pretty irritating when for example,I get some idea and when I start painting it, it's not really what I wanted. And I leave it like that, never finish it, never correct the mistakes, almost never go back to that idea, the impression and spiration is spoiled, hahaa. I hate it when it happens

meish In reply to snowinginmyroom [2009-08-04 15:23:54 +0000 UTC]
That must be crap. I only give up on a small amount of things, although sometimes I finish things and then decide they look awful. With paint I just paint over it again and again until it's right so I have pretty thick layers of paint on all my paintings.

snowinginmyroom In reply to meish [2009-08-04 17:16:31 +0000 UTC]
yes, but one can't do that with watercolores that would ruin the painting.

Ah, yeah. I don't do well with watercolours (unlike you) so I don't use them. Ink, however, I seem to manage with even though you have to give up if it goes wrong.

Yeah sometimes I have trouble knowing what words to use to find what I'm looking for. Sometimes I wonder what to add or do. I love funny comics and this site has a lot of them.
