You at least have West End, new Musicals and plays premiere there as well... Rarely... Uh... Dirty Dancing premiered here... Dusty... Uh... High School Musical (stage show) is apparently going to be premiered here... That's all I know...

Thanks! I'm just looking forward to seeing somthing new. Most professional productions at the moment are just new productions of old shows... Though i am looking forward to seeing Sweeney Todd.

Yeah, the West End is nice : D I really want to see Billy Elliot the Musical, but I doubt I'll get chance.

Oh lordy, High School Musical's been made into a stage show? D: I don't like that one very much...

Oooh, Sweeny Todd! Ace! I missed that when it was touring England D;

Oh wow! I'm currently playing a Brother in an amatuer production of Jospeh (18 years and under... It's so much fun... ANYWAYS) The boy who's playing the youngest brother (he's so cute!) has been shortlisted to play Billy Elliot in the Australian Cast! Though he may not get in, he has to grow another seven inches, it's still so awesome!

Nah, tis not the best musical, but I thought it was fun, even if it was a bit corny...

Opera Australia is doing it at Sydney Opera house, it should be amazing! I saw thier productions of Turandot and Pirates of Penzance with *le gasp* Anthony Warlow! If you don't know who he is I insist you find an Original concept album for Jekyll and Hyde, he is absolutely amazing.

Okay, I've rambled on for long enough.

Oh wow! Joesph <3 That musical like ruled my childhood xD

We did a school versain of it and I got to play the narrator! (Well, one of three, the part was split because we were in virtually every scene...and this is a school play, so of course, they have to mess with everything!)

Ooh, I hope that boy grows a bit and gets the role, that'd be so cool!

Unfortunatly, I only have the Broadway OC recording of Jekyll and Hyde but I'll have to look out for Anthony Warlow : D

It's very childlike... We have two narrator's, ones 18 and one's 12.... It's for diversity... The brothers also range from 9-17... I'm the oldest, but not the tallest... So I'm playing Asher... We got to wear head thingys and got photo's taken for the local paper today, twas awesome.

So do I! I'll take a photo of him sometime... He's currently in Joseph (duh) and CATS. He's playing a kitten... He's also extreamly spoiled, we carry him EVERYWHERE... ><

That's still pretty awesome, I only have the original concept recording... >< I'd like the OBC recording... Of everything! Or OWEC recording.... Save Bat Boy, that is fine with the original cast... *clings to CD*

: D Bat booooy <3 'Such an ugly boy D<'

Ooh, does Asher sing the caribean style one? I can't remember now :S 'Oh no! Not he! How you can confuse him is a mystery' or something of the like!

Aw, I wish I could do CATs even if it has no plot, it's still pretty cute and I'd love to act like a cat just for the hell of it xD

me-ladie In reply to Arbeeroro [2007-01-04 00:48:58 +0000 UTC]

I luff it! I wanna play Shelley cause she is me, only blond... ><

Any brothers can sing any of the songs, we're all dueting them so we can all have a chance, I'm actually not singing any of the brothers songs, I'm singing the upper line of Potiphar with another female brother (who's singing the lower line...).

So do I! I auditioned, got a callback (40 out 200 did...) I didn't get in though... My friend Nick did though! Which was cool.

Are you doing any musicals at the moment?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Arbeeroro In reply to me-ladie [2007-01-05 15:23:53 +0000 UTC]

Ow, well done for getting a call-back though!

I'm doing the Full Monty with my operatic soceity : D Which is fun, even though I'm in virtually none of the scenes!

I loved the musical too much not to be in the chorus for it though.

After that we're doing A Chorus Line, which'll be ace 'cause there's tons of parts for younger people!

me-ladie In reply to Arbeeroro [2007-01-06 11:32:12 +0000 UTC]

Thanks.

Awesome! I love Big Ass Rock... Patrick Wilson = And then Chorus line! Whee! We have very little for people under 21 in Canberra, un less you're a guy, we have hardly any guys. So Stephen decided to dfo Joseph the way it was intended...

Full monty is brilliant! >< You're so lucky... Is there a lot of Musical theatre where you are? As I said, there';s heaps in Canberra, but it's mainly for older poeople and their actors remain the same... >< Not many new faces... Brilliant productions though.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Arbeeroro In reply to me-ladie [2007-01-06 16:26:31 +0000 UTC]

Big Ass Rock is my favourite from the Full Monty : D

Where I live there's very little theatre of any sort. I have to travel quite a way out for a couple of my soceities. The other one is small but quite close to me
: D

The operatic soceity I go for is mainly for adults, but we have quite a broad range of ages in the group. Most of the people who go are 20 - 30, then some are older and some (like me) are around 16.

I think the youngest in our group is 15.

But for kids parts if the teenagers look too old, there's a youth operatic soceity connected to the adult one, so we take little kids from there.

's all good fun!

Tis one of the best songs in the musical.

As I said, heaps of musical theatre in Canberra, very little plays are done though... We have two maybe three companies that do plays and five ones based around musicals.

That is awesome! What's your vocal range btw? I'm a Soprano. Which is greeat in Joseph cause I'm the only one of two Soprano's who aren't little kids (boy sopranos and girls who think they are but can't actually sing in key...) >< They're all so cute though!

What Opera's have you done??? Popular or not so poular? Originals? ><

That's cool as well, no Opera in Canberra, unless one of the company's tour here... >< We had a horrible production of Carmen... The lead guy sung in an aussie accent and then was uber spanish when he sung 'Carmen'

Arbeeroro In reply to me-ladie [2007-01-14 15:41:41 +0000 UTC]

My vocal range? I'm Mezo Soprano.

But I can go soprano at a push : S

Ah noo, we don't do Operas we're just called 'Operatic' because that's the common term used for a group that perform musicals : D

I think ammetuer opera would be pretty dicy :/

Mezzo's awesome, cause you can sing almost everything...

ZOMFG! Joseph first preformance! Absolutely amazing! I love preforming.

That's still pretty awesome!

I don't know... Depends really, if the singers could sing it would probably be like any amatuer musical... >< If you go to a Canberra Philharmonic production... They're almost as good as professional ones...

Really? Wow.

Tbh, I've never seen any opera, so I wouldn't really know!

Oooooh! Yay performance <3 How're they going? Did the tickets sell well?

I did a one-off youth performance last thursday with one of my drama groups which went well - considering it was pretty under-reheresed. Well had a full house aswell, which was lovely.

me-ladie In reply to Arbeeroro [2007-01-20 09:17:48 +0000 UTC]

Yep.

I have, I saw Turandot... Loved it!

Selling well, we've sold about 100 tickets per preformance... Thursday was a full house (200) so was this evening's preformance... So we've sold about 600 tickets for 4 preformances...

Oh cool! Well we did joseph in about 3 months... November, half of december and half of January...
