# About me
I'm originally from New Jersey, where I attended the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon & Graphic Art. I began working in the New York comics and animation industries in the early 1990's. My clients include Valiant Comics, DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Image Comics, BOOM! Studios, First Second Books, IDW Publishing, MTV Animation, Warner Brothers Animation, Cartoon Network and others.I am a member of the online webcomics collective, ACT-I-VATE.com, where I contribute free, weekly webcomics including the superhero-sci-fi epic, "LOVIATHAN", and the true-life historic memoir, "Parade (with fireworks)".
"Parade" was nominated for a 2008 Will Eisner Comic Industry Award for “Best Limited Series” and is a 2010 Young Adult Library Services Association “Great Graphic Novels for Teens” selection.
Other graphic novels include "The Life And Times of Savior 28", a collaboration with writer J.M. DeMatteis, cited as "one of the finest superhero stories of the decade" by comics news site Newsarama.com.
"Foiled", the first graphic novel by author Jane Yolen, is a Junior Library Guild selection, The Graphic Novel Reporter's "Best of 2010" selection, a 2011 Young Adult Library Services Association “Great Graphic Novels for Teens” selection, and a 2011 Amelia Bloomer Project Recommended Reading List selection.
I'm a member of the National Cartoonists Society and a founding member of Deep 6 Studios in Brooklyn, where I currently reside.

I was checking out the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon & Graphic Art some years ago and was wondering if it was worth going. At any rate, Welcome Back!

I learned a lot at the Kubert School. The most important thing might have been taking deadlines seriously and getting work done on time. Really, I think any reputable art school will offer the basics, the rest is up to the student.

I didn't really keep up with it. Months or sometimes years in between posts. Thought I'd just try a fresh start with a profile that uses my real name, etc.
