ok this is gonna be long, but i just actually saw your page and if i was overwhelmed before it just got a hundred times worse lmfao alright so the thing is, yes i've been on dA for like four years now but i was never really all that active, and trust me, you're just being too kind to me, i actually have no idea what i'm doing lkjgdflkgjd i just recently discovered what journals are for and still the concept isn't all that clear in my head.

also, i hope this isn't too rude or invasive of me to say but, you're the first capricorn i meet that seems to actually have a heart!!!! so yes, you are definitely quite the unique soul  

my relationship with writing is a bit complicated; i've always been a perfectionist so for the past 2 years, writing has felt more like a dreadful chore than an enjoyment or a catharsis or anything of the type. however, i promised myself i would face these fears so that's where i'm headed now. i wrote a poem earlier today that i'm a bit insecure about. it's pretty simple, nothing fancy, but i guess what matters is that i wrote something, right? also, let me just say, rhythm is a bitch. i CANNOT tell you how many times i re-wrote the last words because i just couldn't figure out a way to make it look and sound good at the same time (i probably still haven't).

anyway, i'm very sorry for this shitlong paragraph, i'm just really excited someone so good decided to pay me any attention lmao thank you very much again, you're really really kind! <3

ahh omg i'm sorry i don't mean to be overwhelming!!! and it's totally okay i didn't get the hang of dA for foreverrrr so like don't feel too bad - as for journals, there really isn't a point people mostly just use them for updates, or for tags or to vent. also w hat "you're being too kind to me" nono?? don't say that <3

i totally understand that, i've always kind of felt below-average and i wanted to be a lot more than that so writing was tough but i felt like it was the only thing that i could do without hating it, and it helped me get my emotions across so i stuck with it. don't be afraid to post stuff you don't feel like is "good enough" - everything you write (everything everything) will help you improve, and others can critique you - or, you might discover you're just being too hard on yourself and people love it.
but you're totally right, the best thing is that you wrote something c: and also, simple can sometimes be the best.
RHYTHM IS SO DIFFICULT?? I gave up on trying to write structured poems a looong time ago, now I'm just stuck with weird rhymes like in the middle of my lines or strange line breaks lmao idk I just improvise at this point cx

hi there friend!!! first off i should say that when i read your message last night i couldn't stop smiling if i had to. this is my second day on this account and it's already better than all the four years i've spent in here before. thank you so much for being such a nice person <3

 i thought a lot about writing in general today, and of what you said about it as well, and i decided that this is exactly what i need; to think less and to write more. you are undeniably right when you said that i'm probably just being too hard on myself. most of the time, i am, but this is my chance to let loose and appreciate my ability with words even if it is an underdeveloped one. we do have to start somewhere after all  

thank you so much for the advice and for taking the time to welcome me here, you sure have made this a lot easier. (also, thanks to you i made some neat little changes on my profile. i think it looks good?? hopefully? dlfgkjdfklgj either way thank you, i actually never thought of it until i saw your profile and realized that it was an option i guess) i'll post my first poem in here as soon as i figure out a title for it, and if you decide to check it out, i hope it's not a disappointment lmao
