You do realize when you add things to your "hated" folders, they pop up in your favorites display too? And in the display, they aren't marked as "hated" so people think you like them. Whole lot of good that does.

Okay, in all seriousness, hon:
The general philosophy here is that if you LIKE something enough to want to look at it again, you favorite it.
If you don't like something, then there is a "back" button for it.
If you are offended by the content of the images, why on earth would you put them in a bookmarking system intended to help you find them again?
Also, it is undeniably horribly rude to put an artist's work in a folder labeled "hate". Artists expect some level of dislike from certain audiences, but the acceptable way to express discomfort with art is to discuss it. To have a polite conversation about why the artist made certain choices, and what the critic finds objectionable about those choices. I get the feeling that you aren't a critic, though. Just a hater.
The only conclusion that I can reach is that you actually go looking for things to hate. This is interesting, since people usually avoid things they hate. So maybe you don't actually hate it? But just want to hate it? Hell if I know.
One way or another, you should really rethink your system. Hopefully you were unaware until now that the artist receives a note telling them the name of the collection you saved their work to. No matter what, what you are doing is both illogical and offensive. I strongly recommend taking ~Mashimoshi's suggestion. But, hey, it's not up to me.
Oh, I might also add that by adding things as hated, you are still adding their statistics as if you liked it, so thanks for helping get my objectionable art farther up the popular page on searches!

I did actually wonder if it was something like that. I was too consumed with being irritated to worry too much about it though.
My suggestion would be to do what I did, and create a new account. Then you don't have to offend the artists whose work you actually like.
I actually do understand this situation. I've been in a similar one before. But seriously, you should get another account. dA allows up to 3 accounts on one email address, so you don't even have to get another address. It would be nice to express how you *actually* feel about something, wouldn't it? Also, the system you have now puts all art indiscriminately on your front page. It starts to be a bit of a giveaway, even if they're separated out in your faves gallery.
