So...random question. Since you live in Seattle, have you done any of the pet photography workshops available through cowbelly.com?

Nope. As seems to be the trend with pet photographers here, since there's already so many and lots of competition, they won't let anybody who lives within a certain distance of Seattle into the workshop.

That's certainly a nice little collection you have there! I think in general the ones I find most interesting are on the ones where the animal isn't dead center and when you're shooting from a lower angle.
One thing you might want to look into getting, a really cheap piece of equipment that can be fun to play with, is a reflector. I don't even have a real reflector made for photography, I just got a big piece of white foamcore poster board from the drug store, and it does the exact same thing. You want to really think about where your light source is, how it's lighting your subject, and what shadows it's creating. Like in your shot "If the skies are blue..." I think the composition is really nice, but his face is a bit dark and you can't see half of it. What you can do with a reflector is set it up opposite your light source (in this case the sun behind your dog) to bounce it back. Then it'll actually act as a small light source itself in lighting up the subject. Anyway, just something you might want to try out, that's really cheap to play with. I love shots taken a couple hours before sunset when the light is gorgeous and then bouncing back the light on the subject, it can make for some beautiful shots.

Right now I use a Canon 7D, though many of my older photos are taken with a Canon Rebel Xs, as I only got the 7D this last spring.
