I tink you've figured it out by now, because it's the same thing that you've just done here in asking how to post a question on someone elses DevArt, but yes, maybe I can explain, but it might not make any sense.

Main Page Comments
If you want to leave a message on their main page, like this one here is, then just go to their main page, and scroll down until you get tot he little box where you can type, put in what you want, and press submit.

Comment on a piece of work
If you want to leave a comment on someone's artwork, click on the thumbnail of that artwork to enlarge it, and then scroll down past their description and all that wonderful stuff, and past other people's comments, until you see another little box that looks the same as the ones on everyone's front pages. Do the same as I mentioned before.

Sending notes
If you want to send someone a note, you can do this 2 different ways.

#1 - You can go to their mainpage, and just above their recent deviations, or favorites, and journal entires, is a bar with a bunch of buttons on it. if you click on the yellow one thatsays "send note" it will take you into the Notes area, and since you clicked on it from their page, you won't have to type there name in the recipients space.

#2 - You can also be anywhere on deviantart, it doesn't matter where, and you should be able to see a line of text that's right underneath the "DeviantArt where art meets application" banner. Click where it says "Notes" and it will take you to the same screen, where you have to type in the persons name if you want. If you're "watching" people, then you can just select their name from a drop down list.

Watching people
If you come across someone on DevArt, and you really like their stuff, you can "watch" them so that any time they upload something, or write a journal entry, then you will be updated.

When someone you're watching has uploaded something or changed something, then this will show underneath the DeviantArt banner, and will say something like "1M, 2C, 7D, 5J", or soemthing. M is messages, mostly used when someone adds something f yours to a favorite, or decides to watch you. C is comments, someone has either given you comments, or has responded to comments you have left. D is deviations, someone on your watch list has uploaded something. J is journals. Someone on your watch list has uploaded a new journal.

Wow, that must be one of the longest things I have ever written and DevArt. Actually, you've probably already found all this stuff out by now, but oh well. if you need to find more stuff out, just got to "Help and FAQ" or to the forums. Most people will definetly go out of their way to help a new deviant.
