Ah, no, I received it in the mail a while later! But since it crossed the globe, it may have simply been a postage delay due to Christmas, maybe she sent it after the international cutoff date! for her country!

Hi there! Sorry for taking so long to answer! Thankfully, I'm not too late x)

So you're making the jump too, eh? First of all, congratulations on your courage and welcome into the once-bald-sisterhood It takes a lot of guts to do something like that. It's doubly great that you also chose to do it in order to raise money for a worthy cause!

My experience was personally really good. I had pretty long hair by the time our event came around (as on my old DevIDs!) and it was a MAJOR thing for me. Stress was maxed out and so was excitement. Afterwards, I got dozens of compliments and congratulations which I am certain you will also receive!

Now I won't hide that you will get some odd looks. Everywhere you go, people will judge (as they always do one way or another!) but no matter what looks you get, hold your head up high, stand proud and firm for what you believe in and you'll see, it makes so much of a difference in the way people will view you! But I'm convinced you'll be gorgeous, so that won't be a problem

Furthermore, you'll be surprised at how fast hair grows. You know how when you dye your hair, roots show so fast? Well your hair will probably grow back even faster because of the extra boost of having had it shaved. Another recommendation, if you'll have it, is fear not short hair! Have fun with it! I'm about to have mine dyed white. And I styled my hair in a mohawk last week. It's serious fun!

And thank you soooo much for all the advice! I feel a little less nervous now. Hahaa... sort of.

I'll have my boyfriend there to help me feel a little braver. I'm actually doing it to support him as well as raise money for charity. He was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma - a cancer of the lymphatic system, last December. I naturally assumed the treatment for it would cause him to lose his hair which he was intending to grow down to his butt like some hairy rocker. He had it cut short anyway, but after four sessions of chemotherapy - it's still stuck firmly on his head. I keep pulling on it and nothing happens!
He's going to have a full head of thick, shiny hair this Friday, (the day of my head-shaving event) whereas I'm going to be bald as a coot!
Oh well - I guess we'll be defeating gender stereotypes.

And I'm prepared with hats and head scarves! It's freezing over here in Scotland at the moment. I'm looking out the window and it's snowing again... My bald head is going to freeze.

Wow! You're dying your hair white! I want to do when mine grows back long enough. How long has yours grown now and how long has it taken to get that length?

I won't be online over the weekend to read notes and I will have a HUGE backlog on Monday, so it would be a huge help if you could check the following before sending:
- have you included whether you can mail your item, and whether you'd like to receive yours in the post
- does your wishlist contain things suitable for ALL the categories (except the one you've vetoed, if you have a veto) i.e. literature, drawing, crafts & photos
- do you have some stuff that's vague on there? it's good to have some broader themes to give your Santa a bit more freedom

Yeah, I know Magatsu all right! He's my second best, after Manji... No, scratch that. I love 'em both!

As for the hair, it's growing back slowly but surely and I've adapted to it fairly quickly! It's nice to roll down the car windows and not worry about hair in my face all the time And the best of all is the fact that people keep complimenting me about my hair, or lack thereof. What can I say, I'm only human
