Was wondering if you're self taught, and if so, do you use references such as studying other peoples art to utilize and modify their technique into something entirely new?
Was trying to understand what people mean by "self taught".

I am mostly self-taught with (much appreciated) help here and there, but you should really do the things you described wether you are self-taught or not! Looking at other peoples' techniques, cherry-picking the best parts and regurgitating them to form something of your own is an integral part of an artists self-discovery process.
(People who did not study art usually call themselves self-taught.)
And thanks for the compliment! Also get a drawing tablet as soon as possible, you won't regret it!

oh, so it is an ok thing for most hmm? Unfortunately for me, I don't have many things around me or on the outside to practice drawing on.
also, you must have read my bio of how I make art with a mouse I bet lol. I see it as practice before I actually get one 8)

There's tons of stuff all around you, just go into the subway and draw some people (stealthily)!
Practicing with a mouse will only make you better at drawing with what feels like a bar of soap. : )

May I ask how big the stage was for your Out of Order video in newgrounds?

Oh cool! It's not that big as what I'm currently using which is 1200 x 675. But do you think my size will still display my video on youtube or newgrounds alright? Because I know it's like over half HD or something like that.

1200 x 675 seems kinda weird, you'd probably be better off orienting on these standard resolutions: www.equasys.de/standardresolut⦠or else you may have black bars on the sides of your video on youtube and the newgrounds player.

Did you use any other software besides flash to make Out of Order?

Just After Effects to add audio and to put all scenes together. I considered drawing backgrounds in photoshop but my deadlines were too close for that.
