Hey, is Asperger's Syndrome considered to be autism? o:

Many professionals consider it to be part of the "autism spectrum". Some professionals consider it to NOT be part of the spectrum, and a separate and independent disorder. So there's not really a straight answer to that.
Most people consider it a type of autism though.

If you think it's part of the autistic spectrum, then yes, it is autism itself. But even with the spectrum theory, there are degrees of autism, ranging from low-functioning to high-functioning. Asperger's is sometimes use interchangeably with high-functioning autism. Many professionals disagree about these simple facts. It's really quite complicated.
