You're very welcome. Thanks for taking the time to ask for an explanation rather than just accepting it. That says to me that you care about the photography more than mere exposure and I respect that.

Whoa, whoa, whoa... 4 months? Some (only some ) of your shots are amazing, and for four months of "serious photography", that's pretty good.

Hey,
I was wondering if you could help out in the voting process for artworks submitted to #QualityColor .
(We need more 'contributor' to decide what to approve and what to reject.)
I'm asking you since you've got high-quality stuff, and uh... hopefully you can assist in making #QualityColor shine.
Just click on "Join our group" on the sidebar, and change "Members" to "Contributors".
Thanks!

It seems your style isn't conventional... if more folks would learn appreciate it, you'd certainly get more favs [on some shots].

Perhaps an unconventional style is preventative concerning getting more favs? I am glad you like it though.

Yeah.
My theory is that a large number of favorites seems to be negatively correlated with quality...

I actually find that 10% favorites/views ratio is indicative of a 'good' piece of art. Or at least popular. There are certainly exceptions, like fan art and nudes and it also depends on the method of promotion.
Therefore, it is interesting to note that on the 5 deviations you linked, their fav/view ratios are 25%, 22%, 12%, 7%, 18%.
My order of preference of them aligns as so:
12%, 22%, 7%, 18%, 25%.
There's not much that can be said from all that, except that that which was the most popular with others, I definitely liked the least.

Your least favorite is by a decent artist. [link] , for example. It seems they are simply so popular that everything they post gets favorited even if it lacks quality.

No debating she's a fine artist, but I don't like the subject matter much at all and that's what appears to make it popular.

C:\>rm -rf /
'rm' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
Yet another reason Linux sucks!
(TBH, I actually like Linux, but don't really feel the need to use it over/alongside Windows 7.)

I don't know that command actually! Over my head lol.
I would use 7 if I had a free copy, but XP suffices. I tried Ubuntu, but I wasn't a big fan.

It's used frequently in programming jokes. Sometimes neckbeards tell newbies to run it to fix something. They then run the arbitrary command (which they lazily don't research what it does first) and proceed to cry themselves to sleep. Modern Linux systems usually have protection against this deadly command, though.

Hey random deviant, got here via the 'random deviant' button. What are the chances I ended up on your page, huh? About 1-in-30 million, by the way. Lucky you!
So, have a llama badge!
And hopefully I'm not spamming your wall. Sorry!

Yo dude,
Just reading a comment of yours about how you liked stars and such, well I failed to post it in the reply, but have you ever considered building [link] one of those?
Might get you up to 10 minutes of exposure time for star work.
Go for a double lever one and you can get about 40 minutes out of it before the trails start!

I don't go to places with sufficiently low light pollution very often to make these worthwhile (unfortunately). If I persist in it, I might actually do something, because I've seen some spectacular photographs of the milky way.

Its worth travelling to a dark sky site to have a go at stuff that that.
I'm in a pretty decent location, but the tiniest amount of haze seems to white out the sky at the moment.
