I don't know where YOU learned about weapons, but YOU're completely wrong. I have never once in my life seen a real sai which was sharp. They are not for stabbing. They are not for slicing.

If you don't mind, please link me to your evidence, as I have trouble finding any records of real sai being sharp.

Honestly, there is plenty of information out there on the Sai, if you do a bit of research. It's not the whole blade that's sharp, it's the very tip of it. Even one that weren't sharp were still used for stabbing. Here's one website that I found:

First off, who gives a shit. It's Fiction. We're not writing self defense books or even trying to teach people how to fight. It's for entertainment's sake. If you want to start pointing out every single mistake like that in fiction, holy shit your life will be LONG.
Also, just for the record, in the TMNT world the sai ARE POINTY. They guys are often pinned to BRICK WALLS by zai. It's in the TMNT canon. Here's proof, actually. [link]
So you can say THEY were wrong, but it's their damn choice to make it that way. They're also NOT trying to be accurate to real life, cause... OMFG GUESS WHAT, MUTANT TURTLES DON'T EXIST EITHER.
Also, in the old toon, Don's bo and Mikey's chucks would also be pinned to walls. And those are REALLY not sharp, but guess what! THEY CAN DO THAT cause it's FICTION.
