fuzzy, I have ordered wire online from parawire, and from widget.com. It is cheaper than my local craft store wire

Love your trees. I've been making wire trees as a hobby for years and only recently started actually selling them. I have yet to find a good place to buy quality wire though. been buying it by the 40 yd spool from local craft stores for my small trees, but that seriously cuts down on the profitability lol. I used to use scrap wire from a local wire mill my dad worked at for my larger trees, but they've since closed their doors.

Hi, I still didn't understood. On your site, right here [link] , you are saying that you wrapped real bonsais in aluminum. Is that so? Or you just copied their shape very well?

swtcl [2012-10-09 04:08:18 +0000 UTC]

I was offered a beautiful tree a few years ago and thought it so beautiful and unique..it was a twisted wire with little glass tear drops all over, this tree had a bonsai type of shape to it and when the sun shined on it the tree glistened reminding me of dew drops almost. It's so pretty and I've always wondered who might have made it.Then I saw a post of one of your trees in facebook and was surprised at how much my tree looks like your style of work...so does the tree I described to you sound like one you have made possibly?

Unbelievable work! I saw the home and hanna tree are for sale but none of the trees mounted in wood. Will anything similar be available in the future?

Woo, another Wisconsinite! Your trees are just amazing. You probably get asked this a lot, but how long does it usually take you to make one?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

kaitrees In reply to Fallingfreely [2012-01-10 06:33:25 +0000 UTC]

It all depends on numbers of strands of wire and if I do roots. High strand count and roots = hundreds of hours the simplest ones without roots ten hrs or so.

kaitrees In reply to Faceless-World [2012-01-10 05:30:01 +0000 UTC]

Hi luv yeah got lucky on the DD (not much competition in the wire tree niche) Had bad summer lots of manual labor and was homeless for a bit no trees after hometree done. Sold a big tree to a library and just getting back into twisting now.
Hope all is well with you and yours. Heading over to your world to see what new and wonderful things you are up to these days.

It seems that 2011 was a hard year for almost everyone I know. Though being homeless tops any of the mess I waded through. Have you tried selling your trees on any sites? I'm certain if you find the right market they would sell quite well. Do you have any in Oshkosh, I'd love to see them in person.

Yes trees are made from aluminum wire mostly, a few from copper and brass.
the strands of wire run unbroken from roots up to leaves.
