Doing pretty good. very busy. School starts up again next week. aaaargh. this will be the first summer I didnt take off, but I had to because the class I need is only offered in the summer. yuck. lol. thanks for asking. How about you?

oh...I had to do that one year too, and for the same reason, it does suck,
but the classes aren't as long, so that's a plus...

I'm good, counting down the days till my vacation next week
(I took a couple days off around the holiday)

yeah, but shorter classes means longer classes. They are running Monday and Thursday from 7:30pm to 9:40 pm, and campus isnt close. Some people have to come to this class from a couple cities over, thank gods Im only about 30 minutes away in non rush hour traffic. haha. AND... once these are over then fall begins... arrrrrgh. I dont know if Im going to make it. lol. Enjoy your time off!! Wish I had some.

You have no need to doubt your art. You have beautiful work! Do you enter in art shows and such? Even if you have to travel to them, you could get real big time exposure by taking your art to artshows! I think you would do very well. I know you make some money off your prints here online, can you imagine if you sold prints at an artshow?? You might even get some kind of sponsorship, or maybe you'll meet some famous artist to teach you. Possibilities are endless. Are you still having trouble with people stealing your work? that's the hard part with being online, anyone can take and do what they want with your stuff and you never know. Im not all that great so I dont worry too much, but if I were as good as you I definitly would be expanding my horizons away from online where people can just take what they want. Might be cool, you could even teach classes on photomanipulation. YES you are THAT good!

I've never entered an art show before, I haven't really felt that good about my work to do that yet anyway. I know my parent's would like me too, they feel I could do something out of photography. I make a bit of money every three months on here, but it isn't like a job it's sort of like having an extra $20 a week which is a start really.

I have a lot of trouble with those that steal my work, mostly it's people who speak different languages so I don't think they understand copyright very well. I find them on blogs and everything, I've recently found a website that are selling work to be put onto mobiles and quitee a few artists are having their work taken there. It's quite annoying, especially when you take time to make something and someone steals work and just posts it on their blog.

I wonder where I could sell my work offline, that is a good idea actually. I might look into it tonight.

no prob. tell me how it goes. I would start by going to art gallerys, print shops, and framing shops, even some craft shops having framing departments. Ask them about any upcoming art shows and such. Most of these kind of places set up booths at these shows, so they are likely to know when they'll be, especially if they have a regualar one every year like they do here in VA Beach. As it gets closer there will likely be some kind of add in the paper that will give you phone #s of people to contact to set up your own booth. Usually there is a charge, and it's usually not cheap, but what you want to do is promote your work and make contacts (and sell prints if you have them). If your specialty is photography and photomanipulation, create a setup to show a piece of your work from start to finish. Create a business card... (how old are you?) that gives your information so that you can do private work for people. This is where you will make the big money and make your name known. Best thing is, if you do really well at, this could become a job... of course you would have to learn how to do taxes and taxing if it came to that, but if comes to that that's great! That means you've succeeded in doing what you love as a career! Go for it. It will take time, patience and perserverence, but I believe your work can only get better as time goes on, and for that, you'll do well.

Again, if you get into a show, please let me know how it went! Remember to be confident in your work, and dont let others opinions slow you down. What is art to some is not to others, always remember that. Artsy people can be very opinionated and irritating, but that doesnt mean that your work isnt good, it just means that it isnt their type of art, and you will find people who love it, just as I do, and the rest of your Deviant Art following.
