# About me

A few years ago, Janie was afflicted with guillian-barre syndrome; an auto-immune condition where the immune system attacks the nervous system and causes paralysis and nerve damage. This affected Janie’s strength, mobility and ability to do simple everyday tasks. She was not about to let it get the best of her, however. She refused to stay in the hospital and recovered enough to go home. She began creating handmade jewelry as a form of physical/occupational therapy. Self-taught, and on the road to recovery, she started developing her skills in scrollwork, chain maille, wire weaving, beading, etc, and has created numerous pieces all varying in styles. She continues to make jewelry, customizes pieces for sale, and continues making strides towards a positive future.
