Doing my homework research for the atomic bomb debate and come across this [link]

WANT. WANT. WANT NOW.

Now I can't decide whether I want this or The Hobbit more.

Pictures aren't loading :/. Maybe it's all the Firefox tabs I have open for APUSH. *Not ranting*. I will try again when I'm not angsting because Truman's diary entry is, like, adorable and I kind of just want to not say anything during the debate again, even if it's just an exercise in rhetoric or w/e. Sorry, this is my idea of not ranting, I guess.

I went on imdb, though! And then my brain/history broke (again). But but it comes out June 22. And The Hobbit isn't until December. So you don't have to decide.

Awww Haley I miss you terribly, too. I've been feeling very nostalgic about pretty much everything lately. I haven't been writing too much either, mostly just bad self-sorry poetry. I miss reading your work, have you been writing recently?

A little, yes! Not as much as I should, I've been trying to properly organize this story I'm trying to get off the ground, and it's hard. I really really want to write it but I can't just now. :/

But that is good to hear. And I hope your paper's going well. Silent Spring?

Hi I just won NaNoWriMo.

And Calhoun's still unconscious.

And the story still isn't done.

And there's so much to wrap up, but I am too sore to do it tonight. So instead, I will look at it tomorrow.

jahamette In reply to Feyoran [2011-12-01 03:00:11 +0000 UTC]

HI I SAW BECAUSE I AM A STALKER AND I SENT YOU A NOTE AND YEAH.

But that's okay, bro. You wrote 50,000 words. In one month. Wrap-ups and sense-making will come.

DUDE just read the Webster story (Webstory?). It is like, cute. I don't really call things cute, or at least I like to think I don't (except Togepi and Madison for some reason), but daaah.

β€œAnd who with better right?” said the stranger, with one of his terrible smiles. β€œWhen the first wrong was done to the first Indian, I was there. When the first slaver put out for the Congo, I stood on her deck. Am I not in your books and stories and beliefs, from the first settlements on? Am I not spoken of, still, in every church in New England? β€˜Tis true the North claims me for a Southerner, and the South for a Northerner, but I am neither. I am merely an honest American like yourself-and of the best descent-for, to tell the truth, Mr. Webster, though I don’t like to boast of it, my name is older in this country than yours.”"

.......That's deep. BUT, WEBSTER. Yo, Devil, you bad, man.

LOLOLOLOL I don't even know what to think. 1971. I thought the Devil and DW story was more recent for some reason. I don't know why that's relevant I'm just trying not to lawl at the link. Not working.

Feyoran In reply to jahamette [2011-12-31 05:08:03 +0000 UTC]

Okay two things. Just spent a few hours watching the MOVIE VERSION of D+DW (it's on youtube if you feel like wasting utilizing 1:44 hours doing very little but wishing Jabez Stone would shut up so they'd get to the next bamf Webster part). About halfway through I couldn't handle the narm and so went to wiki the author. AND THERE IS A SEQUEL. AND IT IS MORE CRACK THAN EVEN I COULD DREAM UP. WELL. I THINK THAT WAS A CHALLENGE ISSUED TO MYSELF.

BUT ANYWAY IT FEATURES A SEA SERPENT IN LOVE WITH DANIEL WEBSTER AND WEBSTER BEING BAMF AND SEA SERPENT AND DANIEL WEBSTER AND LORD ASHBURTON AND DANIEL WEBSTER AND TEDDY ROOSEVELT SOMEHOW GETS MENTIONED. AND IT IS NAMED LIKE A HARRY POTTER BOOK. "DANIEL WEBSTER AND THE SEA SERPENT" I MEAN REALLY? AND I CANNOT STOP CAPSLOCKING AT THE THOUGHT OF IT. PLEASE TO BE READING IT NOW. [link]

Also I am writing the sequel to the crack!snowball fight, and will hopefully finish before New Year's. Will send whatever I finish in a note before I shut down for the night or something. Possibly.

Feyoran [2011-11-29 02:28:35 +0000 UTC]

Today was very wtf in writing; first I had Quincy being a TOTAL BAMF, wowzing Jackson, and now when I looked over my last paragraph it featured Clay-and Webster hand-holding. There is, however, a totally logical reason for that last one in context (Clay's hand's been accidentally burned by Calhoun, Webster's cooling it down).

I do have words for JQA BAMFing like a boss and they are... I don't know. Something like yeah JQA. You rock that zombie killing. I also have a word for Webster/Clay, and that is aww. Not like that. But still. Aww.

Not making too much sense right now because minor (?) identity meltdown or mvb.

YOU DO KNOW THAT IS A PICTURE OF TORI IN THE ARTIST'S AVATAR RIGHT YOU NOTICED THAT DIDN'T YOU? OKAY OKAY NOT LOOKING AT TORI ANYMORE. 42. That is the answer. Because lol. Also you cannot argue with 42.

Feyoran In reply to jahamette [2011-11-26 01:29:07 +0000 UTC]

Lawl, I actually didn't, but I did notice that she was listening to Tori when she posted whatever. Hmm. idek. Decide for me okay, going to look at moar history icons instead of writing. Jackson's up to 114 kills. AND DID YOU KNOW HE'S ACTUALLY OLDER THAN QUINCy by like 2 months BUT STILL WHUT?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

jahamette In reply to Feyoran [2011-11-26 01:43:28 +0000 UTC]

Also, perfectlysane is totally a Tori-lyric. A Toric?

I think we both need to find this person and bake cookies for her. DUDE what if she's like, our collective brain out doing artsy stuff about Adams while listening to Tori whaaaaat is this?

Sorry I am trying to get over the awesomeness of this.

I like 42. Also 41 is lawl. All of them are lawl. But I would go with 42. Maybe. *Looks at all of them*

Aww 18 is so cute. Hah 31.

Feyoran In reply to jahamette [2011-11-26 01:55:23 +0000 UTC]

Damn why did I go looking for moar, now I'm on Liberty's Kids icons. I used one of my own making last year, so consistency would be good. Of this batch, I'm thinking...85 or 86 (Adams), although 92 is freaking hi-larious. Oh LJ, you serve all my icon needs. [link] 86 might actually be the most appropriate for NaNo, but 85 is Washington and last year's icon was a Washington too.

Lawl, that'd be fun. Or maybe I'll just make my own.

Also lawl at you being all Abby yay and I'm just like yeah let me get to the Founding Fathers >.>

I made a decision yay. The TJ one going what you did there I see it. See? [link]

Lawls. Kay.

Also I saved my NaNo, which is good. Yays. And I may or may not be going to Princeton Library to do a write-in, which I am somewhat scared of. Idek.

Also, there were fanarts made last night. Of everyone that's appeared in my novel so far and also another Clay, and little captions, and Jackson's pokerface, and Webster being rather drunk. Perhaps I will upload them as scraps.

I feel like there is something I am forgetting to tell you. What am I forgetting to tell you?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

jahamette In reply to Feyoran [2011-11-26 16:40:18 +0000 UTC]

That was kind of my favorite. BECAUSE TJ.

Although I did like the Adams one going "Ew, Dickinson", and the Adams one going "I hate you all". And Franklin being a pimp, and Franklin being a creep and Franklin Franklin Franklin. Yeah.

A write-in! You should do it. What time is it? Or is there no specific time and just a bunch of writer-folk writing endlessly? I don't know.

Fanarts I must see them! Jackson's pokerface *shudder*.

Bro, I don't know what you are forgetting to tell me. I'm... sorry?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Feyoran In reply to jahamette [2011-11-26 17:00:42 +0000 UTC]

Lawls. TJ. Yeah, Adams rocks too. So idek.

Um, the talky-bit ends at 1 but I gather peeps would probs stay after that. And it's at the Princeton Library, apparently.

Jackson's pokerface is like his regular face, bro. OH OH OH this is possibly what I forgot to tell you: I drew Dolley Madison because she showed up as like, a natural-law-bending-ninjatype. Only I'll probably send her off again because she's hard to write.

Also we have some soap, okay? So the brand is "Olay". And when I uwas using it, I looked down to see the right bit of the O had rubbed off a little and I was like CLAY AAW YEA

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

jahamette In reply to Feyoran [2011-11-26 17:08:34 +0000 UTC]

So are you going?

DOLLY IS A NINJA.
DOLLY IS A NINJA.
DOLLY?
That explains EVERYTHING.

Actually, it doesn't. But still. Don't send her off, author.

HAHAH CLAY. SOAP. Get it?

LM update: AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW Hugo you can be CUTE, too? (Context: Marius and Cosette in the garden being cheesy but awwww.)

Feyoran In reply to jahamette [2011-11-26 17:24:30 +0000 UTC]

Not sure. May just hang with Emily. Or be a socially awks hermit and stay home.

Well, not quite a ninja, but she does flit over rooftops. Like a boss. And she'll probably need to go get the Declaration of Independence so Quincy can summon the spirit of Jefferson to help them.

CLAY SOAP. YEAH.

HUGOOOOO ikr? It's adorkable. Aaw. And slightly stalkerish. So you're like halfway done or something?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

jahamette In reply to Feyoran [2011-11-26 17:34:17 +0000 UTC]

Socially awks hermit, that sounds familiar. You could make tea and listen to Mozart, though.

Whoa flitting over rooftops. Must separate image from Anne Sexton poem about witches. *Separated*. Dolly=Not-quite-Ninja.

It is slightly stalkerish but still. 850/1200 pages so like, 2/3rds? My mom asked me yesterday if I was reading "that" for school and I was like, lawl no. Which reminds me I should probs go read Hamlet for English class or MvB.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Feyoran In reply to jahamette [2011-11-26 17:40:42 +0000 UTC]

It's what I do every day. And I am stuck listening to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, idk why. Because it's so catchyyyy...even though it's like electric guitar O Holy Night and both my parents hate it and whut. It's going on my iPod eventually. Tea sounds good, though.

Yeah, like a proper not-quite-ninja, her first appearance wasn't quite an appearance and had AJ going ...wtf? And she flitted away. Lawls.

But it is also adorbs. That is a lot of reading. Savor it like a large roast of meat-oh wait...like...a platefull of...awesomely cooked brooccoli? Lawl, I should probs read Silent Spring or something or axe-throwing MvB. But I won't. I will write (or rather, browse the NaNo forums, whut)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

jahamette In reply to Feyoran [2011-11-26 17:54:27 +0000 UTC]

Yeah hermit-ing is underrated. Lawl I wrote a poem in eighth grade called "The Hermit". And then I tried to write a novel. (Hahalol).

I see. Hai Mrs. Madison!

Savoring it like a feast of the best most awesome broccoli in the world ever.

(Let me tell you a secret. I think maybe one or two people actually read the entirety of SS last year, and they were angry. I read most of it, but once you get past the first few chapters you get a spot-on feeling that all the other chapters are going to be like, "Yo, DDT sucks. Here's some examples.")

GO WRITE, BRUH. Or not.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Feyoran In reply to jahamette [2011-11-26 18:47:30 +0000 UTC]

Lawl, writing novels.

FFFFF. Man, even in AP no one reads the whole book?

How do I stop Quincy and Jackson bantering wittily back and forth at each other? I mean. Yo. You guys aren't bros. Stop acting like it. Seriously. Now they're comparing tallies. Quincy doesn't keep track because he's cool like that, but Jackson is at 114. Peeps gotta catch up...even Dolley's ahead of the triumvirate, she's got 14. Even VAN BUREN'S ahead of them with 6ish. That's...gonna change very shortly.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

jahamette In reply to Feyoran [2011-11-26 21:53:45 +0000 UTC]

There were people who read the whole book. (Totally being defensive of my AP class because they're awesome). It just wasn't a particularly enthralling book. And then we got our assignments and re-read the parts we thought would pertain to them, or opened up random parts of the book and looked for examples because, trust me, there's a lot of overlap in the arguments. A. LOT.

There should be an epic battle where all three are together and there's a superawesome 'splosion of zombies because they're all there and whut now.

Did you end up going to the write-in? I was in Princeton and I took a picture that I must show you. It involves TR. Yeah.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Feyoran In reply to jahamette [2011-11-26 22:30:57 +0000 UTC]

I think I'm getting to the epicbattle parts. But now I'm just wasting time making 100x100 avatars on Picnik and derping. Although my mom needs the computer so. Yeah.

Mm. Okays. As long as it's not like teh Freshmen not reading Great Expectations *glower*

Nah. ALSO TR?

Dude, in an orchestra/band made of Presidents, TR would play flute just 'cause. I have been thinking about this why?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

jahamette In reply to Feyoran [2011-11-26 22:39:20 +0000 UTC]

No. Nothing like freshmen.

Haha I was planning on telling you/showing you at the same time, but that would require a lot of self restraint. So I was walking with a friend on Nassau Street, and there were like, two men on the side handing out pamphlets. They were both like, Christianity yay, kinda pamphlets! Except one of them was all texty and uncreatively preachy. AND THEN AND THEN. There was the second man, who handed a paper to my friend saying, "You know you're worth a million."

I FREAK OUT BECAUSE THE PAPER IS A MILLION DOLLAR BILL, AND, AND, THE PICTURE IS OF TR! BECAUSE OF COURSE IT WOULD BE TR YOU KNOW? So I took a picture. And grinned.

Flute. Please elaborate. Aww and Washington would be the conductor, and Jefferson would be the first violinist, and and, Truman on piano, and TAFT WOULD PLAY THE TUBA. AND WHO PLAYS PERCUSSION?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Feyoran In reply to jahamette [2011-11-27 03:31:29 +0000 UTC]

Same friend as in the poem? And LAWL, pamphlets. Is anyone actually converted by way of pamphlets?

TR TR TR TR TR. TR. But you know who's on the billion...FDR. Lawls.

Because it's so not-manly that it's manly, sort of like My Little Pony. Uncle Sam's actually the conductor. Washington is that thing that tunes everyone. Jefferson and Adams are stand-buddies. Jackson's on percussion. He wears sunglasses to all the concerts because he's too cool for school. TAFT ON TUBA LAWL YES. Um, I have some general impressions of where everyone is, but idk. And they all play this [link] . Or possibly the Star-Spangled Banner if you wish to be serious or something.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

jahamette In reply to Feyoran [2011-11-27 03:44:31 +0000 UTC]

Hm. Yes, actually, the same friend. It's funny because he was talking about how when anyone offers him something like that, and they tend to be religious things, he feels like he has to take it, even though he's already pretty Christian and will likely end up just throwing it away for them. He did keep the bill though. After I wildly giggled and asked to take a picture. That was fun.

FDR is on the billion and TR is secretly really jelly.

I see it. I don't see the My Little Pony, I'm sorry. But I do see the flute. TR, making flutes cool. Fine Uncle Sam can conduct. That's cute. CAN SOMEONE HAVE AN OPERA SOLO (Washington. Or Madison, as a soprano, or secretly actually a really rich bass voice? WAIT ADAMS WHAT DOES HE PLAY? Hahalol Jackson.

THEY CAN DO BOTH.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Feyoran In reply to jahamette [2011-11-27 17:12:25 +0000 UTC]

Hurm. Yeah, I'd probs feel obligated to take it too. But it's kinda derp, yeah. Lawls, million dollar bills with TR pictures on them. Also, my dad left Pandora on Classical Christmas music and idk man, hymns are pretty. I'm not sure how conducive they are to writing, though.

So jelly. Incredibly jelly. And for the record, I don't see TR being a brony, if that's what you're not seeing. Maybe Buchanan or Polk (in secret), but not TR. Brendan likes that show, so he had me watch an episode. It was...interesting.

I was wondering about that actually. Singers...? TO THE INTERNETS

Anyway, Adams, to be stand partners with Jefferson, has to be 2nd chair first violin because ofc Jefferson is first. Wilson's 3rd chair. Other violinists apparently are Tyler and technically Lincoln, but I'm putting him on bass just because (he's TALL).
NIXON AND ARTHUR HANG IN THE BACK PLAYING ACCORDION AND BANJO RESPECTIVELY.
Apparently Quincy's another flutist.
And in my Presidents book, it said Harding played EVERY INSTRUMENT IN HIS LOCAL BAND YEAH. AT THE SAME TIME. Apparently everything but trombone and clarinet. Apparently he was a boss?
Um, Grant's tone-deaf-ish, so they gave him those wooden cloppy-blocks that sound like horse hooves and/or the triangle.
Madison may or may not be on piccolo, but Buchanan definitely is.
FDR played...the organ? Does that even count?
OMG REAGAN AND COOLIDGE ON HARMONICA; DUETS.

Ooh, apparently FDR also sang soprano in school.

"Both John Quincy Adams and his wife, Louisa Catherine, were great devotees of music, and often sang ballads and arias together..."

And then there is also this [link] , although he's totes not a Prezzy yet, it is interesting.

jahamette In reply to Feyoran [2011-11-27 18:18:29 +0000 UTC]

I would have too, but they were on his side. Which was unfortunate in this case because I DIDN'T GET A TR BILL, MY LIFE IS A LIE.

HAHAHAHLOL FDR GETS AN ORGAN SOLO. Why is this so hilarious? Hahah Grant. That's cause Harding's a Gangsta/Gamaliel. Lol Reagan and Coolidge, that's kind of awesome.

I'M EXCITED. I don't even know why.

D'awwww Quincy and Louisa. (Sorry Abby and John, competition!)

(Also have just been introduced to Enjolras and Combeferre and the gang and can maybe slightly understand your instruments a little more. Except it was weird because every time he described one of the guys I would pretend/be-completely-convinced that I was that person for a few seconds. For like, all of them. Even the "skeptic" because, HAI grandpa voice.)

Also my sister made me drive her to Baskin Robbins because she wanted a turkey-shaped ice cream cake. On that note, Happy Turkey Day. I mean Thanksgiving. Yeah.

(By the way you totally got two samples, the Jackson one and the Quincy one. If I can find a decent chunk of Triumvirate I might consider sending it but I am not too confidant of that. Lawl, I'm flashbacking with Lafayette and Washington now via Dolley Madison...so it might be a while before I get back to them.)

(also Calhoun steam-dried the other two's coats, but gave them a Look. Yo logic isn't for cleaning coats, guys.)

(also I finally figured out how Clay's powers work. It's complicated.)

Fanarts they must be drawn.

Yay, words! Darn it. By second, I totally meant third, you know? YES PLEASE "TRIUMPH"ERATE YES.

Clay powers? Would you like to tell me or spare some brain breaking?

Speaking of brain breaking, Hugo just took all of my nerves and stretched them out very very very thin, and played them like a screechy violin and jumped on them like a trampoline and he was giggling the whole time. I don't. Even. Know.

How was Turkey gobbling?

My God I am writing JQA and Clay pranking each other. Like idek and it makes me laugh. I would send you the paragraph in question but Howard's internet is busy derping and I am writing this on the back computer and I don't feel like derping around with a USB or anything.

Um, a brief overview of Clay's deal is that there's different planes, yes, and let's say they are like a delicious sandwich. The plane we all exist on, reality, is like the slice of bread, and then there are two more: improbability, which is like the peanut butter and jelly, and impossibility which is like the other slice of bread, and Clay can kind of shift through these layers like jelly that is oozing through the brea- okay, let's drop the sandwich metaphor. But yeah, his compromises bring the impossible (reconciling contrasting ideas) into reality (yay compromises). It's really exhausting, though. SO the villain is Sectional Discord, which Clay fought in 1820 resulting in the Missouri Compromise, which means the villain is a metaphysical blob of discord named the Missouri Problem. The zombies are like its little tentacles reaching into the reality world through appropriate vessels.

Also, practically, Clay can use this thing to jump up into the improbability level and teleport short distances. He just brought DW and JCC along with him for the ride back up the massive pit they fell into through the Senate chamber floor, and it rather made them nauseous. This is not even the complicated part, augh.

HUGO STOP IT. NO. KEEP ON GOING, HUGO, BUT DON'T GIGGLE, THAT'S RUDE.

Turkey-gobbling was awesome; it's delicious and makes you very sleepy. Also the stuffing was amazing and I ate probably too much pumpkin pie because I adore that stuff.
