My name is Jules, Joomba, Jooper.My favorite color is pink, not cause I am a girl, but cause its a color that is rather rare in the world, a color that most people shy away from, and one that is simply not "pale-red"...but is PINK, unlike its other colleges who could be described as "light blue", "pastel yellow", and "pale green".
I hate humanity in general. If i had my way, I would live out in the country with its wide open spaces and pretty landscape...away from people.
I am a Cowboys fan. But I kinda suck at it. Whatever.
I am learning to play the Ukulele.
My mind is vast with colors, imagry, metaphors, ideas, strange thought proccesses, theories... And not much else. I suck at math and being logical. Having that said, I have no idea why people say photography is a logical, mathamatical beast. They are liars. Either that, or I have no idea how I am good at photography. (and by good, i mean barely substantial)
I have an affinity for cuteness, mayonaise, zach braff, giraffes, beaches, morbidity, owls.
Oh. And I love me some video games, absolute favorites: Halo:Reach, Harvest Moon64, Okami, Portal, Pokemon Red.
Others that I really like: Dead Space, Left 4 Dead, Call of Duty, Mario like games, Paper Mario64, Pokemon Gold/Silver/Yellow/Blue/Red, Metroid, World of Goo, Halo3 and Halo:ODST (haven't played the first two,yet), Starfox64, Katamari.
And i like my boyfriend, doug.

I love your page. Whenever I need a break from destroying my hands on a large panel I hit up your gallery and it makes things better. You're like an angel on my shoulder. This photo was such a long time ago from my first photo class ever back in my sophamore year of college. I think that was three to four years ago? Wow time has passed.
I digress, there is no "concept" behind this photo. There never really has been. The inspiration was simply the surrounding environment and the "concept" comes from my obligation of getting an "A". I think I was trying to go for a primal, adam and eve concept, but I believe it comes off as more of a "theme" rather than a "concept", if that makes sense.
Here is the thing; none of my work has concepts. I don't believe in concepts because I don't believe in art. I just try to make work that looks interesting, something that I would like to see done. Nothing more. I mean, I think subconsciously there are some personal motifs and concepts hidden behind some of the images, but they aren't for the viewer. I guess I care more for the skill and craft of the photo, since that is the only thing that can be measured reliably.
Measured how? I think that people are biologically designed to desire certain colors, compositions, rythem, ect... (hinting at rule of thirds, golden rectangle). I have hypothesises of how these have an evolutionary advantage, but concepts? Concepts are useless. I don't believe in things that require the existance of man to exist themselves.

In terms of measurement, that makees a lot of sense. And in a way, that is artistic, if you care about the aesthetics so much you allow others to create their own personal interpreations of your work, which is pretty neat!
Do you mind me asking what this rule of thirds is, and the golden rectangle? You are speaking of some interesting ideas that I sadly am not informed about!

haha, yea, i'm out of college. Well, about to go back; i want to be an art director some day so I need some graphic design background.
The rule of thirds: take a horizontal paper and divide it into thirds vertically. Feels good right? That is the rule of thirds.
The golden rectangle is similar. just google it and look at the images. it is a pattern that is continuously found throughout nature.
Often times, people who fit these ratios are considered "pretty". Its math!
