As an answer to the first, I'm just going to quote Deviantart's copyright policy(Found here , as well as at the bottom of every page on DA.)

"What is Copyright Infringement?

To simplify this question, copyright infringement occurs when you do certain things with a creative work which someone else produced without first getting the proper permission.

Some examples of copyright infringement (this is only a partial listing) can include:

* Placing a photograph or creative work online without proper permission.
* Using a creative work commercially.
* Adapting a creative work of one medium to another, such as making a book into a movie or a photograph into a painting.
* Modifying or editing a creative work without proper permission."

And as for the second, is that really reason enough of a reason for you to infringe on the rights to an artist's intellectual property? This is considered theft, you know...And it's taken EXTREMELY seriously in art communities(like DA), which is why you were attacked and harassed by others about it.

well you really took this seriously, haven't you... ok, few things: hypothetically if my pictures were really to harm anyone in any way they would be going down that instant. with exception of few bored people, that is not the case. this really is making my day just like everything about it.

internet itself is escape for me. i don't know where are you from, but here in my country, things are really not going well. I'm working and going to school all day long. And when I come home "going out" is only in domain of my imagination, unless I kill people or do drugs for money. So until I graduate i really dot have almost any sort of exhaustion vent whatsoever.

I don't really have habit of whining about anything, but this time, i have to ask are you really that keen to take one of my few forms of entertainment i have, witch is not harming ANYONE (heck, no one is even seeing it) just for sake of your principals and luxury of your justice, and there was no one to remember those words when were they bombarding us and letting thanks on us..

Yes, I take theft VERY seriously. It's one of the few things that make me morally normal.

If you actually wanted me to leave you alone about this, you'd just take the pictures down and be on your way. But no, you're just attempting to send me on a guilt trip for trying to enforce the rules of a community that I care about.

It's not going to work...Because I truly could not possibly give less of a damn about your living conditions. I also go to the internet to escape from reality, but I'm not going to use that as an excuse as to why someone should let me off the hook for doing something bad. That actually doesn't make any logical sense, now that I think about it.

All I'm saying is, if you really wanted me to leave you alone so you could have a happy time on the internet, I have already told you how to. Just take down the pictures.

I promise to leave you alone if you just take them down and stop doing this.

I never claimed to be nice. I, and many other hard-working artists would greatly appreciate it if you would please just remove the pictures from your gallery. If you had any idea how much work people put into things like that, MAYBE you would understand why people are harassing you.
