Helloo. My name is Ashley and I'm just your average nerd scribbling nonsense and crying about fictional characters. Onto the obsessions!
Sonic. Yep. This is one I won't really scream about anymore. It's not an obsession anymore and never will be again but I still draw him here and there. This stupid hedgehog is the reason why I'm going to be attending art college this year. Without him, I would have never started to draw or write. Funny how I owe a lot to a fictional hedgehog lol. Sonamy still resides somewhere deep in my heart, sitting quietly. They were my first OTP ever and shit like that sticks with you.
HEROES IN A HALF-SHELL, TURTLE POWER! Yeah, never thought I'd get into this one but it was destined to be. Started watching the Nick show in early 2013 and ever since then it just grew into a match made in heaven. The four of them are such babies and I love it. Of course nerd-tastic sassmaster Donnie is my favorite, and Leo comes in a very close second. Apritello for life, forever, they are branded in my heart. And Leorai because they are absolutely badass and sad and lovely. 2k12 turts are my favorites ;u;
LORD OF THE RINGS AND THE HOBBIT. LIKE OMFG I CAN. NOT. NO. I will never forgive myself for only just getting into these trilogies by the time Battle of the Five Armies came out. It's done forever but I'm so in love with it and I will miss it for the rest of my life. They are so magnificent and beautiful and emotional, CALL A MEDIC I NEED CPR. Everyone's a BAMF of course. But goddamn though, the Hobbit messed me up. I'm so attached to that story and those characters. THORIN IS A MASSIVE BABE AND I AIN'T JUST TALKIN LOOKS HERE. He is a beautiful creature; his nose can cut butter and his voice is like thunder. People say he's obnoxious and cruel but don't even get me started. How would you feel if people told you you had no right to enter your own HOME? LIKE EXCUSE YOU THEY HAD THE ONLY DAMN RIGHT. thorin is my sweet summer child and i will protect him with every fiber in my being. Oh yeah PLUS thorin and bilbo man do not even touch me the way thorin looks at bilbo in that movie had me on the floor. I was so confused on how I should feel about it because I convinced they were just good friends but COME ON. The mithril scene. that's it. and I will never get over the ending. but what ending? what? no thorin and bilbo live happily ever after in the mountain with a very much alive kili and fili and all the other dwarves. the eagles came, they came and saved him THEY DID DONT YOU SAY OTHERWISE.
MASS EFFECT! I live and breathe outer space man, you have no idea. It is pure beauty and energy and mystery. It is the most amazing thing that exists and of course I believe in extraterrestrials so it was bound to happen. This series messed me up forever. It only enhanced my love and I NO JOKE NONSTOP PLAYED IT UNTIL I REACHED THE END. Mass Effect is just such a powerful trilogy with such an amazing story and concept, with absolutely wonderful visuals and art, melt-your-heart characters, and you just get to play the most badass space ranger ever to save our whole damn galaxy with your space friends who totally love and respect you from those awful robotic ticks. female shepard is best shepard. in the Shakarian ship so deep that it hurts and nothing will ever change that. Tried to romance thane, then garrus shows up and thane goes right out the airlock lol. I've never laughed, cried, aww'd, and screamed so much than I did whilst playing this series. Mass Effect has officially ruined me for all other games; nothing will ever top it for me. MASSEFFECT4NOW.
And that's me. pretty lame I know, but hey whaddaya gonna do?

but I do have problems with it being canon not just because there is going to be escalation between sonally and sonamy fans but also it would just go stale if it is canon, relationships and action characters like sonic don't work plus sonic is a free spirit.
Btw I have hardly seen any new sonic fanart on your page for like ever.

Yup! Well, if this were about two years ago, I would have been flailing all over the place like a little girl in regards to SEGA making it canon, but I've kind of grown out of Sonic (I'm really into TMNT right now) and really Sonic and Sonamy are the only things that keep me in the fandom. So when I heard, it was more just like content that they finally gave us an answer to the question we've all been wondering since Amy first arrived.
And yeah, Sonallies and Sonamies will just find this as one more thing to quarrel about but it will always continue, let's just face it.
I'm actually really happy that they made it canon but I also don't want them to just start shoving Sonamy in our faces because like you said, it would go stale and Sonic is so subtle about his romantic fondness for Amy that it would just seem totally out of character if we see them kissing and cuddling all the time. I think action and romance can work fine if done correctly and people seem to accept Sonic and Sally pretty okay when basically every issue of the comics is something getting blown up or someone getting roboticized. So why not Sonic and Amy?
Yeah I know and I actually apologize for that. I haven't left the fandom, it's just this year (which was my senior year) was really stressful when it came to art because I had my AP Art exam to prepare for the whole school year and I had to build a whole art portfolio for college applications and what not. So yeah, I never really had time to sit down and upload fanart except for stuff I did for school because that had to be put on the computer anyways. I'm still drawing Sonic stuff like crazy, I have so many sketches from my school notebooks xD but I just have to upload all of them :/

I see but now the comics are more world building/rebuilding because 1: unleashed adaptation and 2: reboot no thanks to a no good dirty rotten character stealing hack of an ex-writer that used to write for the comics that sued both Sega and Archie. CURSE YOU KEN PENDERS!!!!!

He was an ex-writer to the Archie comics and he created a bunch of characters he reseigned in 2006 which his position was filled with current writer Ian Flynn. In 2009 -2013 penders sued the comics & Sega for copyrights of his characters. Thus, we had to have a reboot.
