how does one write in bold and italic? I can never figure it out.

like this:
put < b > where you want to start writing in bold (but without the spaces), and then put the same where you want to stop.
for italic, do the same but with 'i' instead of 'b'.

ok! and you can have bold, italic and underlined letters at the same time if you do this:
< b > < i > < u >
but without the spaces. and to end under lined, italic and bold letters do the same bit with a / before you write the letter. ¿do you follow me?

That's wrong. You have to put a < / b > (without spaces) to stop it. Otherwise it'll bolden or italicise your whole message. Plus, u underlines words.
